Way back when my mom would VERY occasionally buy us TV dinners, they came in aluminum trays with separate pockets for the various parts. They were less than delicious, though the chicken one wasn’t too bad and the beef was good if you didn’t mind the metallic flavor of the gravy. That was, of course, many years before microwaves. We got our first µwave in about 1978 or so as a gift from my mother. Used it to heat water for tea, mostly, but gradually learned that it had good potential for heating lef-tovers. We have never used one (successfully) for baking except one recipe for moussaka that I love and Spouse will only very occasionally make.

It’s not the microwaves themselves that are bad for you, it’s what you choose to make in them that is. ;-)

I remember when “TV dinners” came in a foil tray and you heated them in the regular oven.

Joan, are you intentionally playing the empty-headed female for a purpose?
