Grandma Olwen appears to subscribe to moral particularism : “ Moral particularism is the view that the moral status of an action is not in any way determined by moral principles; rather, it depends on the configuration of the morally relevant features of the action in a particular context.” more at https://www.iep.utm.edu/morlpat/
I have a feeling Morbis knows exactly what will happen if they don’t return everything right now! And Ivan seems to be open to new ideas, which is a reason to hope.
Glad there is some code of conduct the family is encouraged to follow. Though I still think Olwen went overboard on whatever she did to all the people of that one town.
“Do unto others as they have done unto you.” as opposed to “Do unto others as you would like them to do unto you.” as a life philosophy is fairly common. Not as common as the “Do unto others before they do unto you.” but still a commonly held belief.
It’s an interesting storyline with a moral to it as shown through Olwen’s attitude towards the theft of those who have been kind vs. the theft of those who have been unkind.

Isn’t Ivan’s comment in panel 3 entirely out of character for that rotten little twerp?
