Anosmia Awareness Day. I had to look this one up. Here’s what I found. " Anosmia Awareness Day on February 27th brings attention to a condition causing a loss of smell. Of all our senses, smell perhaps is taken for granted more than any other. There are many causes of Anosmia. The most common reasons are due to upper respiratory or sinus/nasal infections or diseases. We’ve all experienced a cold or allergy that’s temporarily prevented us from smelling. However, other conditions cause a permanent or long-term loss of the sense. When anosmia symptoms are prolonged or lifelong, many anosmics do not get to enjoy the flavor of foods, the scent of an infant or use their sense of smell as an early warning system for danger.AdvertisementOur olfactory sense has a powerful effect on memories and emotions. When we lose this sense, the impact is terrific. Anosmia Awareness Day provides an opportunity to learn more about the condition and where to go for support."
My sister is finally back home and receiving physical therapy 3 times a week, plus visits by a home health nurse and she is doing quite well. You were all right, the daughter isn’t going anywhere. I’ll go down later this week for a few days.
Great strip today. I don’t remember seeing it before. I wish the cats had been there to save me from having to participate in such barbaric behavior in school.
Just checking in. Read all of the comments from yesterday.
Before I retired, I got it every year because people were too self centered to think NOBODY could do their jobs so would go to work. I was told years ago that if you got it once, you were prone to repeats. I’ve only had it two other times in the 18 yrs I’ve been retired. I get so angry that people who abuse things screw it up for the rest of us. I haven’t been out anywhere in the past week so I have no idea where this came from. Brad said nobody at the high school has been out sick with it.
On the upside, I got a full 4 hours of sleep between 4 and 10 this morning.
Yeah! Score one for the frogs! I’m glad I never had to dissect anything in school. Brilliant comic today. Absolutely brilliant. On another note, saw a flock of about twenty sparrows and four chickadees while out walking today.

I never could understand why they made us dissect frogs in science class. They could have had plastic models for us to take apart instead.

Since I am new to this strip…..Why does a girl who is still going to class (High School?) live in a warehouse with 10 cats?
