Peppercorn visited the vet today and had his leg x-rayed. The vet said he has healed perfectly and can be released to do normal cat behaviors. So he can now run and play, which I have to admit he was already doing. You should see that cat run! But he is now also permitted to go outside, but we’re planning on keeping him in anyway. One reason is that we don’t want him getting hit by another vehicle. The other is that it’s still bitter cold outside, with about three feet of snow accumulated, and he still has very little fur where his leg was shaved for the operation. The next time I’m in the store, I’m going to buy a lazer pointer for him to chase!
Thanks to all of you who prayed for Peppercorn and offered words of encouragement. You are the best!

NATIONAL SORRY CHARLIE DAY. National Sorry Charlie Day encourages us to view rejection from a different perspective. It’s a day to think about the times we have been rejected. Whether we’ve been rejected by a sweetheart or a college, a prospective employer or the bank for a loan, we’ve all been refused. The day also gives us an opportunity to reflect on how we survived the rejection and what we learned from it.
NATIONAL CARBONARA DAY. Enjoy the flavors of Italy and celebrate National Carbonara Day! This delicious pasta dish is made up of a creamy sauce with bits of pancetta. If you love Italian food, pasta, or just enjoy cooking, this food holiday challenges you to put your best recipe to the test.
NATIONAL CARAMEL POPCORN DAY. That sounds like a plan! I should make some of this when I get home from playing Bingo!
Saw the neurologist yesterday. She stuck a few pins in me (barely felt it) and did some electrical pulse things.I told her what I’d told my doc about it starting when I got the new adjustable be and that I was sure it soundedstupid. Nope, she said, She explained about a nerve in the groin area that gets pinched and causes this. It couldhave easily happened when I was playing with the up and down part of the bed. She sent the report to my docand hopefully she’ll send in the Rx for gabbepentin. I know a lot of people have reactions to it (including my sister) butI don’t. It works for me.
What a beautiful mild day (70s) here in Queens, NY. I did spring stuff outside on the meshed in porch and….. ta dah …. 2 kittens (almost 10 months) took their first steps outside. They practiced how to push through or under the porch door’s magnetized curtains. I was either outside with them or steps away. My Oliver was outside with them most of the time and they will learn from him and Tyler. There is only one more place they have not investigated…..the 3rd floor apartment. They don’t know it, or the stairway leading to it, exists…but my daughter, when she visits, will probably invite them up to explore.
Can’t say I blame Annie for rolling her eyes. How about " Annie and sweet lovable Oliver, with Eight other cats, Plus that obnoxious Jerk Chesney"? Then again, Ten Cats sounds better. On another note, saw three robins and five chickadees while out walking today.
