I never had that problem at one of my jobs! I was the receiver and it seemed that all the truck drivers would arrive in the last hour to deliver their goods!! Great overtime â though!!
When I was working in FL I was an ARNP (equivalent to a Physicianâs Assistant) in a category of employee called âExecutive Exemptâ. That meant that someone who flipped hamburgers had more rights and privileges than I did and that I worked for a flat salary 24 hours/day 7 Days a week. I hated when 5 PM came because I was working for free and it was pure gravy for my employer.
As I have found out recently, the passage of time is relative to the event. My wife passed away 9 weeks ago and it seems like forever. We were married for 34 years and it seems like yesterday. I know it isnât a funny comment about work but.
Brutus are you really that anxious to get back home to Gladys, Mother Gargle, Wilberforce, and your neighbor Hurricane Hattie or are you just looking forward to being free of Veeblefester for 16 hours? What a conundrum.
Before I retired, when I was at work, I used to say âIf the years are flying by why is this day just dragging?!â Â Not anymore. Â The years and the days are flying by!

And more seconds in the last 5 minutes.

You need more work to occupy that last hour so that it goes by faster than the first 7.

1) Brutus actually works 8 hours?
2) 9 â 5 is 8 hours. How can he be so portly if he doesnât get a lunch hour?
3)oldpine52 is right. That last hour is when you sink into the black hole of missed deadlines.

The answer is on the face of the clock. Itâs not Seth Thomas itâs made by Rancid Veeblefester.

Itâs a scientific fact. Itâs one of Einsteinâs lesser known theorems that time slows down the closer you get to the end of the work dayâŠâŠ

Either someone else just did this joke, or Iâve gone back to the future.

Possibly because you hate your job and obsessively watch the clock from 4 to 5.

Probably 8 to 5. With his boss, itâs very unlikely he has a paid lunch hour. Hmm, maybe 8:30 to 5. Not sure heâd get a full lunch hour. ;-)

I like that the minute hand in panel 3 is back further than it was in the first two panels.
