The clock starts getting tired…..like you.

It’s not that theirs more minute. It’s that they move slower when your watching the clock.

I think Einstein called it ‘time dilation’.

And more seconds in the last 5 minutes.

You need more work to occupy that last hour so that it goes by faster than the first 7.

That’s exactly the way I felt about last period in school.

I never had that problem at one of my jobs! I was the receiver and it seemed that all the truck drivers would arrive in the last hour to deliver their goods!! Great overtime — though!!

1) Brutus actually works 8 hours?

2) 9 – 5 is 8 hours. How can he be so portly if he doesn’t get a lunch hour?

yes, sadly it does feel like an hour has more minutes somedays.

Brutus, Is that Monday or Friday hours? Two worst working days of the week.

When I was working in FL I was an ARNP (equivalent to a Physician’s Assistant) in a category of employee called ‘Executive Exempt’. That meant that someone who flipped hamburgers had more rights and privileges than I did and that I worked for a flat salary 24 hours/day 7 Days a week. I hated when 5 PM came because I was working for free and it was pure gravy for my employer.

The answer is on the face of the clock. It’s not Seth Thomas it’s made by Rancid Veeblefester.

time is relative

Brutus takes the last hour very personally!

It’s a scientific fact. It’s one of Einstein’s lesser known theorems that time slows down the closer you get to the end of the work day……

As I have found out recently, the passage of time is relative to the event. My wife passed away 9 weeks ago and it seems like forever. We were married for 34 years and it seems like yesterday. I know it isn’t a funny comment about work but.

Nine to five huh? You must be Dolly Parton!

Either someone else just did this joke, or I’ve gone back to the future.

Possibly because you hate your job and obsessively watch the clock from 4 to 5.

Brutus are you really that anxious to get back home to Gladys, Mother Gargle, Wilberforce, and your neighbor Hurricane Hattie or are you just looking forward to being free of Veeblefester for 16 hours? What a conundrum.

Before I retired, when I was at work, I used to say “If the years are flying by why is this day just dragging?!”  Not anymore.  The years and the days are flying by!

Probably 8 to 5. With his boss, it’s very unlikely he has a paid lunch hour. Hmm, maybe 8:30 to 5. Not sure he’d get a full lunch hour. ;-)

I like that the minute hand in panel 3 is back further than it was in the first two panels.
