Ouch. In my state, I think that’s illegal. I believe the law here is that there MUST be an employee breakroom and a place for someone to lie down if needed.
Ah yes, a situation complained about where the boss can’t make it just that much worse. Our office will be moved, and someone showed me the planned layout. No where on it was a kitchen/break room. They will, however, make the poor secretaries use those questionable stand up desks, you know for “their health” aka office so small that its standing room only. All the bosses however seem to be getting chairs with their desks, because bosses.
Having said that, having a small treadmill or other in the break room has always been a suggestion of mine (for all, not just the CFO). I think it would be money better spent than lunging at the trendy ergonomic solutions that are wonderful one moment, debunked the next (looking at you, ball on a frame that no one will sit on now because everyone who tried it ended up falling off the stupid thing…)

My wief’s new job has a breakroom and a fridge, but you have to bring your own coffee mug and flatware.
