VERY WELL put, Pab. CBS should carry both sides. Why is it that most prochoice people are men?? I say, when a man can bear a child then he can have a say. With men being the bearer there would be no need to be birth control. The pain of having one would be the end of that.

Free speech- I bet they put it number one cause all the rest rely on it. Gun ownership- Do you think our forefathers wanted to protect Amendment one? Due process- Were they talking about Health Redistribution of wealth? Search and Seizure-Did anyone tell IRS? All others belong to the States- Was that a typo?

Actually the network REFUSED to carry a Planned Parenthood ad during the game - it’s not free speech - unless both sides are allowed to speak.

Of course most of the women who did what Mrs. Tebow did couldn’t speak out - because they died after ingnoring doctors orders

Maybe the author should take his own advice about minding his own business and ignore what others say if he doesn’t agree with it. There are valid reasons supporting both sides of this debate and too often one side side tries to demonize the other instead of having a civil debate.

First: Safe Legal and Freely Accessible

Second: Full and open discussion.

Third: Individual unfettered decision.

So it all comes down to which world of ‘men’ do you want to live in? If we can be pro-choice as far as abortion is concerned we can be pro-choice about the kind of people we are.

And please, don’t start shrieking at me. I’m not talking about women here. If men would be men and accept responsibility there would not have to be abortion.

Let’s go for the simple solution. All aborted embryos will immediately be frozen for implantation in (and subsequent raising by) “pro-life” volunteers. Within ten years, given sufficient hormonal preparation, men will be able to host the embryos as well. Problem solved!

All this discussion is just blah, blah, blah until and unless you realize that Tim is speaking up for 40 million plus aborted individuals that were not given a chance to speak for themselves.

Also consider this…the artist is using the image of a person who would be sworn to defend the christian faith including the sanctity of the life of an unborn. An apology is due to her for using her likeness in this way.

Great cartoon. And agree - I’ll be impressed with all this anti-abortion stuff only when I see those same groups providing funds for raising and educating all those kids.

Spyderred, we do. We’re huge adoption advocates, and a lot of foster moms are pro-life. We have crisis pregnancy centers where we counsel moms-to-be on adoption options, many have social work connections, and we take constant donations of cribs, canned goods, toys, and gently used baby clothes.

Kids outgrown those onsies? Got that crib taking space in the attic? What about the car seat they’re too big for? Donate them to your local crisis pregnancy center and give moms who chose life a chance to raise them right!

Support her right to a choice… the choice of life!

This is still America. Well, what’s left of it after a year of communist destruction, and Tebow still has a right to his opinion that he’d rather be alive than not, just like people have a right to their opinions in these comments. If you don’t like it, you still have the right to IGNORE IT.

I’m watching Big Love and whatever I DVR’d for the past 2 weeks. I don’t do sports, or commercials.

I watched the superbowl once (in courtesy to my son visiting me last year), and he even explained things to me that made it tolerable. My problem with the commercials is NOT that one, but that our government chose to buy one (at that excessive cost) just to encourage people for the census in this economy. As a part-timer whose work depends on the construction industry (I do permit and construction drawings for architects who are not staffed, and email them to a printing service that delivers). Other than that one, thanks, Pab, I know the Tebow one has raised contoversy- just don’t know why more protest has not been made about the gov. waste…

mrlukeskywalker, not in the least. The fundies still want to legislate their bigotry on everyone who does not share it. Had they adopted a “live and let live” attitude, loving same sex couples could share in the same rights they claim.

It is pretty obvious. And it’s a pointless point since it’s unlikely to ever happen.

My point is that men do have a role and a purpose in reproduction and that if men fulfilled their responsibilities we would not need to be having this conversation. And if women (and men) quit choosing to have sex with people who act irresponsibly we would greatly reduce the need for abortions in the first place.

Watching the ads on the SB, no surprise the ads tended to appeal to (heterosexual) men between the ages of 17-35… from the Godaddy.com ads (boring, now, sorry) to this pervasive theme of some kind of phobia of being “emasculated:” men being “forced” to shop with their significant others (and missing the usual televised sports event) and a downright scary-looking advert of men vowing to do everything their spouses want them to (leading up to a muscle car being their “last stand”)…
