To jimboklein from yesterday: thanks for buying it. Unfortunately, selling an average of 20 books a month (and that includes the first month’s 40 copies) and declining proves to me that my E-Pub experiment with “Go To Hell” was an abject failure. I doubt I’ll e-publish another novel. The returns are not worth it.

Pab, how about a Kickstarter to fund a print edition with an epub edition for higher donors? Shaenon Garrity just did it for Complete Narbonic and it was pretty successful.

the selection of a presidential candidate in this country is idiotically centered on looks and sound bites. truth and common sense are discarded in favor of lies, half-truths and image, above all, image.

I just watched a clip of Perry’s laughable bobbling of his attack on Mitt Romney. Do we need another inarticulate Texas governor as president? But I’ll vote for anyone who can bump Obama.

If conservatives have St. Ronald, the liberals have St. FDR. Ain’t democracy grand?

My complaint is the coverage of elections. The pundits reduce it to a horse race, who’s ahead now and then who’s ahead now…They never compare the proposed policies to each other, they never talk about the history of an issue, or anything about context. The shallow coverage of a process that has a significant effect on everybody’s lives, and literally, life and death issues, is one of the reasons the system is broken…and it is broken…I blame the switch from long newspaper articles to one minute reports….

Saint Ronald raised taxes numerous times. He would be laughed out of today’s Republican party. Or shot for treason.

I dunno, the long newspaper articles are still there, to be read if you want to. I’m a Canadian, so it’s a little different here, but although anyone who wants to can go through an election on autopilot, paying the minimum of attention to the issues, it’s not that hard to find in depth coverage of policies. As a voter, I figure it’s my job to spend the few minutes necessary in order to find the information I need.

Another GoGlitch. I re-filed it to see if it catches and updates. Until then, it’s at the strip’s home page.
