My garden looks like a mess (we went for wildlife haven) but we have a huge number of butterflies and other pollinating insects. My neighbours are surprised how their prime and proper gardens are better now.
Our crab apple tree has a serious case of woolly aphid each year. It seems the best way to get rid of them is to spray the woolly covering the wrap around themselves with methylated spirits. It melts the ‘wool’ and kills them off. It’s awkward to spray though and you have to be careful. I don’t hold out much hope for the tree. They are killing it off
Even if the stuff targets the pests only. Other insects and birds eat them. I know pests almost eat more of our crops than we do, but some care to target only the troublesome ones should be taken.

Hope there is no wind for the pesticide stays in one yard.

I am very careful with spraying, don’t have enough bees as is now.

Dandelions are starting on my front lawn, much to the dislike, I’m sure, of my chemical spewing neighbors.

National Wildlife Certified yard here. I only kill fire ants that are in inconvenient places.

One neighbor treats their lawn, my other neighbor and I do not. Between the two of us, the pollinators have three+ acres of flowers in the Spring.

Thankfully I’ve noticed more pollinators coming around since the guy down the way moved out. He had a pest control service monthly due to a phobia.

I don’t trust that guy at all. He obviously does not know what he is doing. And he is poisoning himself in the process dressed as he is.
