Apparently “wang chung” is Mandarin for “yellow bell”. Hmmm…

Sigh, I miss the days when comics could poke fun at silly pop culture stuff instead of having to spend all of their energy pointing out all the ways we’re endlessly trying to hate each other.

The american white nationalist hate group Boogaloo Boys took its name from the subtitle to the 80s dance movie, Breakin’ 2: Electric Boogaloo. White nationalists in general took the “ok” hand gesture that trumpdump routinely made with his tiny hands as a symbol to communicate to each other. They and other conservatives adopt “Let’s go Brandon” as a catchphrase to mean “F&%# Joe Biden”. And anti-Asian sentiment is spread by conservatives after the COVID pandemic started, largely thanks to ex-presdeedent butt-baby trump.

So what am I saying? Well, if white nationalists take “Everybody Wang Chung Tonight” as a code phrase to plan attacks on Asian citizens at night, I wouldn’t be surprised.

Is this anything like the over-used and totally annoying catch phrase that popped up sometime in late 2020 and is now only used by true losers: “Rigged Election”??

This reminds me of a similar cartoon about the different meanings over time of the phrase “Don’t tase me, Bro”.

I believe wang-chung is legal, now. Among consenting adults. (It always was legal if you did it by yourself.)
