Spud’s dilemma reminds me of a remark attributed to Janis Joplin:

I just made love to 25,000 people but I’m going home alone.

The quote appears in slightly varying forms and circumstances such that it can be read as a preferred, chosen situation or as a very sad one.

Spud, spud, spud. There’s an easy solution. You always wanted to be a bubble boy so take it in a more literal sense and get an oversized hamster ball where nobody could reach you in.

This is why it’s better to be rich as opposed to rich and famous. If you’re rich, very few people know who you are, but if you’re rich and famous, you can’t be left alone.
