Reminds me of the pool of the protected prince in the tale of The Golden Goblet. I think it was in a picture book by Eve Bunting. In the story, the diver went deep into the actual ocean, but didn’t ever see it, whereas the prince who was not allowed to had the imagination to envision the wonders beneath the waves.
