I hope Sterling doesn’t have any eggs with him.

The way I see this ending is this: Dad wakes up in the morning to find his wife sound asleep in bed, still fully clothed and smelling suspiciously like a llama, Wallace asleep in his bed, and Sterling handcuffed to the bannister downstairs with a gag in his mouth. He reaches down to be sure the gag is secure and quietly leaves the house. He knows that whatever happened he’s sure to either read about it in the morning paper, or hear about it at the docks.
