they had a truce in 1914 and played soccer together. my question is ‘why didn’t they all just go home and overthrow the cheneys who started the war?"’~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~.I didn’t know that ‘cheney’ had anything to do with World War 1…..
I don’t know about the Germans, but the British army had (has) a tradition of maintaining discipline by ensuring that “Tommy Atkins” was more afraid of his own officers than the enemy!
That is obviously holly not mistletoe. A lad I used to work with at a restaurant got 3 of the waitresses to kiss him with his sprig of ‘mistletoe’. He tried it with me: I told him to put the parsley away, or else … Then the waitresses found out and got mad. I laughed & laughed.
“Me thinks history just might disagree with your assessment.”.Quite possible since history reassesses itself every twenty years or so, but the question should be one of whether or not I am right.Did Cheney push Bush into it?Did Cheney profit from it via connection to Brown and Root/Halliburton?Were they wrong thinking they should go after the people harboring the terrorists who killed Americans? Were they wrong thinking the danger of murderous tyrants in unstable nations being allowed to develop nuclear and biological weapons was too great to simply hope Saddam’s repeated refusal to allow inspectors in didn’t mean he wasn’t working on methods of killing billions? What percent probability should be used to ignore the chance doing nothing would lead to the death of billions of people?.If at some point in the future, someone blows up a city with a crude nuclear device, historians will say we were too lax in protecting the world from such dangers. If at some point in the future, an engineered biological weapon kills a billion people or more, historians will say we were too lax in protecting the world from such dangers..If it never happens, historians will say all our efforts were over nothing and we were fools to worry and those who did worry were all warmongers.

It’s certainly awkward – mistletoe berries are white. That’s holly.
