Just paint them so they look like Indian artifacts then the chips and cracks won’t matter.

Well, there’s cosmetic. And then there’s structural! Not good to have the side fall off the pot of your favorite flower. If you can wait it out, probably lotsa used pots available soon.

Every Spring my wife’s church lady group has a pot party. Piqued my interest, but when I heard all they do is pot new plants and have I pot luck dinner, I didn’t want to go anymore.

Sometimes you can find ones at garage sales and such. Even if they are ugly, you can spray paint them. I’ve done that. yeah, those pottery stores are ridiculously expensive!

We found this to be hilarious and reflected perfectly the humor in early spring gardening. Great strip.

I use my pots till they fall to pieces. I would love to add beautiful new ones at least once in a while, but they are, indeed, unholy expensive.

This one is easy to get. She wants shiny new pots. Then she sees the price, and decides she can live with the crackpots.

In the end, she’s gonna wind up with a flower garden, when the plants have to re-potted because the pots fall apart.

I love this strip! I’m sure Janis and her green thumb will make those old chipped pots chic!!!!!Actually I’m rather fond of imperfect things. It shows they’ve been well used and well loved.

You really have to be their age, and Empty-nesting to recognize what’s going on. With my wife and I straddling 70, we get a real laugh out the the recent threads…

Sometimes I can’t quite figure out the strip. If one asks nicely, other readers are usually glad to explain it. I still enjoy reading, despite the occasional head-scratchers. I especially like the Ludwig strips, since I’m a cat owner. I almost couldn’t figure it out today, but I did see the price tag on the pots in the store, so I thought that was it. Then I had it confirmed in one of the comments above.

Terra cotta pots give and give. Use them whole and use them cracked. After they disintegrate in your hands, you can use the shards for drainage in the bottom of any pots you have which are still functional.

The (plastic) pots come free with the plants we buy. Husband keeps them afterwards – we really have to get rid of some of them.
