I’m lucky I’m a cat person.

He has his fur coat on.

“Human needs ankle support, STAT!”

Our cats are indoor cats but we let them go out on our screened porch to enjoy cat TV. In the warm weather we leave the door ajar so they can come in when they want to. In the cold weather they either get a blast of cold air and change their mind or they go out and I’ll stay by the door because they will want to come i in a minute or so.

They’re equipped for cold weather (They have a fur coat that’s getting thicker now). The danger of really cold is frostbite of the tips of their ears.

Not a cat person, but I was told if trapped out in the cold a cat will just find some shelter wherever it is, but a dog will freeze to death whineing to be let in. I know that’s wrong because, growing up, indoors is what made our dog Smokey just shiver.

Eddie will go in and out several times, apparently checking to see if it has gotten warmer in the last five minutes.

Ha! Cats— what can you do?

Cat person? Well, he is surely kitty-whipped.

O.K. …… then I’ll just go on your pillow then!

Luddie it’s not any warmer out the front door.

I know it’s only a comic strip and Luddie is in no danger going outside but`cats in the real world don’t have that advantage.

I’m much more allergic to cat’s then dogs, and most of the time the cat’s we had were outside pets. When you live on a farm you want lots! of cats around.

I’m trying to figure out why the two shown doors are different. Is it because Luddie is playing “out” with each door Arlo walks past?

Not today. 80° in Ohio.

Makes me think of the book “Door into Summer” by Robert A. Heinlein.

Some dog owners and comic strip authors talk about the zooms. No one zooms quite like a cat or puts you off balance as well.

I had a cat that insisted it wanted out when it was raining. I opened the door, it took one look and then ran to the back door and wanted out. When it discovered that it was also raining in the backyard, it looked at me as if to say, “Well? Do something about this!!”

Yup. They think the front door is one universal and the back door another. The Siameseses and the Maine Coon are out in the catio right now and are being blissfully indifferent to the weather. I think is going to spend another night out there tonight. If you have cats living with you and are torn about letting them out to roam or keeping them in, I suggest you explore a catio. (Patio for cats)

I’m a dog person. Put him out….

Arlo, feel lucky: I have four doing this all winter long. We might let them out on the front porch (enclosed, south facing) and in a minute or five they are back inside, running to the back door (north facing cat run) just positive that it must still be summer out that door.
