Have you noticed that when Janis is sick, she still has to do all the household management of illness?
While he gets extra free time to watch TV and eat snacks? (The fun things most people do when sick.)
He can’t remember anything she’s done for him or Gene when they’ve been sick?
Nor ask?
If it were the other way around, she’d have a whole protocol: food, medicine, things to make him more comfortable, suggesting a Covid test. She’d be cooking his favorite soup in the kitchen or going to the store. Would offer to binge watch his favorite shows with him.
He remembers having fun while being sick because she created that atmosphere for him.
She’s sick, but it’s still all about Arlo’s needs, with men in the comments fussing that being sick means Janis won’t put out for Arlo. Seriously?
I am sitting here on my 9th day of Covid, thankful that I had both shots and boosters. This is far worse than an average cold; it’s more like a bad flu. Aches, congestion, cough, drainage, migraines, exhaustion. If I hadn’t had the shots I would be in a hospital. So all of you saying it’s nothing and you wouldn’t get the shots again, you’re fools
How about a home Covid test, Arlo? And as for the shots, I’ve been double vaxed and double boosted. All four shots, even the “half-dose” boosters, gave me flu-like symptoms for about three days. But we’re going on three years here, I have have not had the plague, and I’ll take any vaccine offered against it as soon as its available.
I served four years in the army from May 1966 to May 1970.
The first year, I had the flu, and then got the flu shot.
The second year, I got the flu shot, then had the flu.
The third year, I got the flu shot while I had the flu. (I tried to talk my way out of it, but the medic administering the shots told me it was orders for him to give me the shot, and me to take the shot. I took the shot as I figured it was better than not taking the shot and being sick with the flu while serving time in the stockade.)
The fourth year, I got the flu shot, and didn’t get the flu !!
That’s what I thought, too: just a duckin’ summer cold. But my sense of taste had also disappeared. That’s when my daughter suggested it might not be just a cold, Dad. She was right: I tested positive, even though the worst of the symptoms had ebbed. Good thing I went nowhere the whole week I had the worst of the symptoms. But after testing positive, I isolated another five days. Vaccinated and boostered (sic) twice, too. I had predicted earlier in the year, that, one way or another, I was going to contract the virus, so no sense stressing over it. (BTW – it’s never “duck”.)

And Covid is still making the rounds. Two family members just got it. One not vaccinated, & one with having both Moderna shots & the booster.

Kissing someone, even if it’s your spouse, who has a “cold” is a very bad idea. You’ll catch it yourself.

I’m surprised she hasn’t taken a home COVID test. Arlo wouldn’t think of it, but it seems like something Janis would want to know.

I guess I should be grateful. I’m a senior citizen now, and the days I’ve been sick in my life would probably be single digits.

I’ve been sick and cared for those who were and it was NEVER fun.

Being sick used to mean No School, Yay! Laying in bed watching Ray Rayner, Bozo, Captain Kangaroo. Ah, good memories.

When was being sick ever fun?

The only time it was fun is when you were in school and it kept you home a few days.

I’ve never found illness or injuries to be “fun.”

There are many places that people can go talk politics. Why bring it to a comic strip. People come here to maybe get a laugh not a political lecture.

It isn’t really much fun even if you are sure of survival.
