Using real cards has the advantage of making your own rules (or special ways of playing) so you can continue playing when you normally would be stuck so you never have to lose.
Interesting, that while talking about solitaire, she appears holding a hand of cards like someone might have in a non-solitaire game.
Another note: The way she has her cards arranged is backwards from the way I usually would arrange them in playing most card games. I usually arrange them in descending order of value (starting with higher value on the left).
Still like to do that although I haven’t really had the time in years. And when I use regular cards, I’m not playing standard Klondike solitaire. There are four other versions I play: Suit-to-Suit, Clock, Royal Flush and Osmosis.
Deal out 25 random cards from a deck and see if you can make 5 “Pat” Hands (Straight and above). Extra bonus if you use all 25 cards in the hands (meaning no 4-of-a-kind hands, which don’t use the fifth card). The odds are 90% that you will!
I’m so old I can remember my dad getting decks of cards as a premium for filling up the gas tank—well, the attendant filled up the gas tank, cleaned the windows, checked the oil…
I used to play 5 different games and if I lost any one of them, I had to start the entire series allll over from the beginning. Never did make it through all five very often…

I used to use small size decks of cards so I could play different games almost anywhere. Now there are several different games on my tablet and phone.

Hey! Brings back memories!

I did too but it was so messy! I like playing it on the computer or my phone, the cards stay lined up nicely and don’t get in a mess.

We still play a lot of cards so there is always a deck of cards somewhere in the dining area. Every once in a while it is still used for solitaire.

I remember playing SCRABBLE with other people; now it’s OUTSPELL in Wash. Post with an AI opponent on my computer.
