Kids latch onto things for a comfort zone – blankets, pacifiers, stuffed animals, sweaters. Eventually, most kids grow out of them, but, in the meantime, they provide comfort when they need a cuddle, and no one is available. Come to think of it – I can still use a cuddle sometimes.

My dad had one rule, you get a new toy you get rid of an old one. Of course his mom had so many toys we could play with this rule wasn’t too painful.
