Bye, Scott!

You know those posters that say, “Harrumph, I’m dropping this strip”, or “This used to be funny, I’m leaving”. Bye Scott.

Sure, we might miss the strip for awhile, even be reminded of the strip when we shop at Ikea, but life will go on.

What I’m trying to say, in a humorous way, is, we look forward to your future endeavors. It’s been a good strip, but if you feel it’s time to move on, then go for it.

Serious writing is a tough business. Don’t quit your day job. Oh. That’s right. You just did.

Some of us kind of wish the copyright date was a few years later.

Sigh… For what it’s worth, Basic consistently made me laugh, and it never felt tired or re-runny. Still, after such fun, we owe you the right to quit on your schedule. Good luck on the novel and whatever comes next!

@jski I agree with you. The low point of Stewart’s show was when he tried to argue with O’ reiley and was totally unprepared. O’Reilly destroyed him and I don’t like O’Reilly.

“Basic Instructions” has been a poor-man’s Pogo, and by poor, I mean sales are so bad that Scott is going into a more lucrative line of work. Novel-writing!
