SHEIK One has to remember that not all pi are round.. It could be LXW=area, which in this case is square, especially if made of roots which would make it a square root pi. I’ll show you on my slide rule since Peter hasn’t invented the calculator yet, besides they cost too many clams..
I guess it’s in perfect character for B.C. to be the right-brained one and for Peter to be more analytical. Me, I’ll take pie in whatever shape it will fit into my pie hole.
Wildmustang1262, it’s not a question, it’s a statement, and a true one at that. A square root is the reverse of multiplying a number by itself. 3 times 3 equals 9, so the square root of 9 equals 3.

From art to mathematics This strip still delivers. :-)
Hello Big Sister, Tanya, MontanaLady, Lonewolf, Grog, WoodEye, Yukoner, Sheik, pouncingtiger, and everone.

How about that? Artistic math.
MontanaLady about 14 years ago
Okay, gang, I’m not big on upper math…..what is that equation??
Good morning LW18 and Yukoner…
ksoskins about 14 years ago
Somehow with the big round wheel to write on, I was expecting a reference to π, but the 90º rotation from a goofy face to an equation was really good.

That’s radical.

Pie made of square roots? I prefer lemon meringue, chocolate, apple, pumpkin, cherry, or blueberry pie.

BC likes his emoticons, and Peter likes his math symbols.

Dagnabbit, guys! All this talk of pies made me hungry! Time to hit the diner!

MLady - The equation says The square root of 9 equals 3.
tomtweit about 14 years ago
Pi (e) are round, cornbread are square!
ChazNCenTex about 14 years ago
Funny and interesting side note - once I saw the equation it was hard to see the emoticon anymore - i just kept seeing 9 = 3 on it’s side.
MrRess about 14 years ago
Sweet potato pie could be square root of pi. YUM!
attyush about 14 years ago
Integral z-squared dz from 1 to the cube root of 3 times the cosine of three pi over 9 equals log of the cube root of ‘e’
Nighthawks Premium Member about 14 years ago
well, THAT certainly clarifies things!

I’m surprised Lew didn’t make a reference to the face. Until he turned the wheel, that was a nice face!
Wildmustang1262 about 14 years ago
What is that answer after Peter drew on the rock? Anyone knows the answer? Math is NOT my subject. Sorry! :-/
COWBOY7 about 14 years ago
I’ll take any one of those kinds of pies, LuvH8.
Good Sunday Morning, MLady, LuvH8, Grog, Ladywolf, Tanya & Everyone.

Wildmustang: davidf42 got it.
Thus we see the difference between B.C. the screwball and Peter the nerd.

Actually, JanCinVV, it’s not quite a true statement.
Mathematically speaking, √9 = ±3
davidf42 about 14 years ago
And the square root of pi has never been been calculated.

Never seen a square root, they all look pretty round to me. However, I read once that the Japanese did invent a square watermelon.
