I hate it when they do that. They made a movie about one case where the plane crashed and killed all on board. It’s called Fatal Traction.

Need a landing more a-la-helicopter ;)

You need a tail-hook and an arresting gear for those short runways. That’s what U.S. Carrier pilots use.

Time to upgrade the landing gear.

The aviation community uses a thing called RCR or Runway Condition Reading to measure it’s slickness. I just looked it up. They changed it since I was flying. 6 is dry and 0 is “sour owl shit” slick or icy.

I was landing at Clark AB in the Philippines once and they reported “icy” conditions. It wasn’t ice, it was a swarm of rice bugs (think cockroaches on steroids). There were huge, black patches of them covering vast areas of the runway.

Slick move!

It’s good enough. He’ll walk away from it, eventually.
