Ironically, I too loved to count the down quills poking through my pillow as a boy of the 1940s. I kept quiet or mom would insist that I wear goggles to bed.
You have to be as old as Methuselah ( I qualify), or a devoted fan of old black and white horror movies (Check second box). I think that’s what I’ll do tonight. I’ll watch one of those horrible things and eat popcorn. One of the funniest movies made, Abbott and Costello meet Meet Frankenstein. Has Bela Lugosi as Dracula, Lon Chaney Jr. as the wolf man, and the voice of Vincent Price as the invisible man. I wonder if Mr. Price only got half union scale? I mean, he didn’t actually appear.

Monthly? The Count goes through a lot of down.
Alternately, on the naughty side, place the words “She goes” in front of that phrase.

How do you get down from an elephant?
You don’t. You get down from a duck.

I thought the phrase was “Out for the Count”, which could refer to a search party – or a posse!

Absolutely, brilliantly clever, reaching but wonderfully so, and very funny once it sinks in…

“Monthly” wasn’t necessary for the pun. Simpler would have been: “All-Natural Pillow delivery to Transylvania”

But down makes dreadful pillows. It floofs aside and leaves you lying on two layers of ticking. For pillows, you want feathers.
Down is for duvets and sleeping bags.
beany54 over 1 year ago
Down…as in down from a duck or goose. Count Dracula lived in Transylvania.

Surprised by number that didn’t get this.Duck or goose down (tiny feathers) are used to make pillows and in this case Count Dracula in Transylvania.
