Elvis: You know, Burt, there's a whole bunch of footage from before you worked here that would be terrific to see through your video editing skills! Is anyone listening to me- Puck: Shhhh! TV: And now..."Our IX Lives-" Burt: Elvis, I'll edit whatever as long as I can watch the "Our IX Lives" Christmas special. I've waited all year for this. "You're invited to the wedding of Angora Taggart & That Guy Brad" Bandit: Hey, bit brother! Kibble for your thoughts? Brad: Not much, Bandit. Gonna be a real cold Christmas is all. Puck: Why is Angora marrying Brad?! Robber Mouse: Because Kit just took off when Snowball got sick! What? She's a mind reader?!

“That Guy Brad”- lol for real. Georgia, you’re the best!

There are only four presenters (counting Tommy) so I suppose they have to take a rest and roll a tape from time to time. But I’m not a kibble opera fan. I want hard news, in-depth investigations of vital questions (e.g. What are dogs for?), and shocking exposés of the bizarre phenomenon of humans who think their children are as important as their cats.
And Angora will surely change her mind at the last moment.

Ok, am I imagining things, or is Bandit a motorcycle cop !! Oh my GOD, if I am not imagining things, best sight gag. True little story: about 20 years ago the police and town hall of a small town near Portland called King City took in 2 stray cats, and they named them Radar And Prowler.

Georgia: I was a little worried about the changes you would have to make to the structure of the of script, but if this is how it will look in syndication, it works great!!!!!!!

First thing I checked this morning and will wake up to every morning. Except, alas, next week I’ll be traveling and there will be one morning when I won’t be near a computer – How will I survive? And how could Angora agree to marry that guy Brad?!

Hello everyone!
From now until Christmas there will be a new strip every day! Why is Angora marrying that guy Brad? Wait, Kit has a brother? And why is it snowing in California? (Knowing ‘soap opera magic,’ I don’t expect that last one to be solved… Anything can happen!)
Twelve days of ‘Our IX Lives’! Snuck in before Christmas, rather than after like the ACTUAL twelve days of Christmas—just to drive Elvis extra crazy.
Some of you will already be getting ‘Breaking Cat News’ in your local paper, starting at the end of March! I’m not able to say which papers yet, but I can say that many papers through the country have already added us to their funny pages! It is exciting!
We are still pitching the strip to newspapers, and your letters have been helping, thank you! Some folks have been requesting, “put it in this paper! Or that paper!” We would love it to be in every paper—but the newspapers make that decision, not the syndicate. The syndicate peddles its strips and hopes newspapers bite. (We are …the bait? I’m not sure I like this metaphor, although I think cats everywhere would LOVE IT and SWAT). The good news on that is, if you want ‘Breaking Cat News’ in your local paper, let them know about the comic and why you like it! They might not listen to the syndicate pitching a strip they’ve never heard of, and they might not listen to a cartoonist hoping to get into the funny pages—but they will listen to their readers, if enough readers write in! Or maybe if one reader makes a really compelling case… I’d LOVE to just put the strip into any paper you request—but the paper makes that decision. The power lies with their readers!
As for right now… We are back ‘on the air’ for twelve days for the Christmas special! Hooray! I hope you will tune in! Have a great day!

…maybe Brad’s a redshirt, and he’ll die tragically within the first fifteen minutes.

OMC! Is Elvis setting up the “reboot” for when strips start in newspapers? Those poor newspaper readers won’t be up to speed like we are, and they’re going to have to get introduced to everyone the same way we were.
.
I’d hate for them to miss out on things like: The move to the Big Pink House. Meeting the mysterious bump who becomes the Baby who becomes the Toddler. Meeting the new Baby. Meeting Tommy, and then his Woman and Sophie. Meeting and the ceiling cats and their Mujer. Finding Li’l BeeBee (that’s what I call her). And so many other thinks I can’t think of (or can think of but don’t have time to type). Going back and re-editing old footage is a great way to do it.
.
Re-experiencing all those events in reruns and rereads has been such a joy, I would love to see them yet again in the new format! This is one reader who will NEVER complain about reruns or rehashes!

@mdalton You’ve got the right idea! And footage will be added in to expand upon original stories, so long time reAdrers see things (and maybe catch new details!) that were missed before or not included originally. Burt is going to be helping out the studio big time!
