Part of the problem is that “presenters” often only present “facts” that support their agenda, and they withhold “inconvenient facts” that do not fit their narrative.

It always depends on which truth a person is referring to:

- objective truth

- political truth

- personal truth

- religious truth

I’m sure there are more.

Some people respond better to rational presentation. Some respond better to emotional appeal. A class of us took an evaluation. Person on one side of me was like 92 on emotional side, person on other side was 89 on rational side (I didn’t find him rational, but at least he saw himself as rational as he took the evaluation). Person interpreting the evaluation said he’d never seen anyone as close to dead center as my results.

Research is what governments do when they don’t know what they are doing. The result is always a pointless government study that conclude the obvious.

I once told my wife about tiny ionized particles that are attracted to static. They tend to jump around on your clothing when you’re trying to find them, making it difficult to get decontaminated. In the nuclear industry we call them “fleas”. She really ticked me off when she didn’t believe me. Her 40 years as a housewife made her more knowledgeable than my 40 years of working in the industry.

My mind is made up. Don’t confuse me with the facts.

Winky understands the wisdom of being married … No matter what the facts are, even when you’re right, if your wife says “YOU’RE WRONG,” you are … < raise a glass … > ;)

No one likes admitting they’re wrong.. it’s a form of pride.

My my a reflection of today’s social media. Now if you’ll excuse me I have a comment section (namely this one) to watch and eat popcorn to.

People defend their party zealously even when they know it’s wrong just as they deny to the principal that their kid started the fight, then at home spank the boy or punish him for starting the fight. On the news I’ve seen a mother of a murderer view a security cam video of her son shooting an unarmed man and then denying her son did it.

“Give me some facts and see if they change my mind. If they don’t, I’ll believe you. If they do, I won’t.”

…said dump supporters everywhere.

People Hate you when you remind them how Stupid they have been.

Which explains why our current Politics is so screwed up.

Facts often hurt peoples’ delicate egos and fragile indoctrinated world views.

This study was based on flat earthers.

You have to do it the right way. Use a hammer.
