Given that both birds and bees (generally) can fly, it would’ve made more sense to say that birds poop on you, and bees sting you.

Knowing Nerwin, he might actually be asking about birds & bees.

You’d think in 1,500 years Broomie would have picked up some wisdom. She probably did, but has since forgotten it.

I always thought the correct answer is “Ask your father.”

And not all bees sting.

I’ve often wondered, like Broomie, why a story about “the birds and the bees” explains sexual relationships.

I don’t know why. Reproduction is different in birds, bees and humans. The only similarities are that in humans and birds the males tend to show off for the females in order to attract a mate and in some bird species they tend to mate for life as do most humans. Humans tend to be more similar to chimpanzees, bonobos and dolphins in that those four species have been known to engage in recreational sex and masturbation.

That’s why Broomie has no children and what a relief THAT is!
