Duplicate #2 should have had the decency to do the homework and give it to #5 to hand it in.

At least the real Calvin will never have to go to the principal’s office ever again.

Also I figured they’d go in order by duplicate numbers.

That’s it—Calvin has MPD.

At least they don’t have a classroom full of Calvins.

This is getting out of hand

The principal must be wondering how much stranger Calvin’s stories can become.

If they are clones, how do they know what their numbers are?

Where are the rest of them hiding?

#5, they are the adults Calvin has to deal with everyday of his life, give them a break for they know not your ways.

No 5 needs to make sure the detention is tomorrow.

I love this story line.

Just think of me as an imaginary irrational number.

I love the principal! The way he’s all slumped (obviously he got comfy from the lengthy Calvin explanation), his yoga hands and his expression~ spot on! Calvin being so indignant in the last panel is priceless.

Gee, adults can be so dense sometimes!

I bet the principal is thinking of retirement.

The expression on the Principal’s face is priceless ! lol !

This is going to be a whole new cabinet for Calvin’s files

Calvin grows up to be Dr. Evil for sure. It’s actually quite brilliant.

This is definitely going on his permanent record.

And the Principal thought he’d seen it all.

I was a middle school teacher and I’d rather have taught a first grade class with several Calvins. Better mischievous than malicious and in the grip of hormones.

Yep, that’s the principal’s expression I was imagining after reading yesterday’s strip.

Last panel is the best. “Look, I don’t see what’s so hard about this!”

Have to respect Calvin for sticking to his story though….

Go ahead and give me detention – but please make it for tomorrow.

I love the look in the principal’s eyes.

That way we should be reading 5 strips per day. Apparently, Bill is not interested in creating that may strips.

I wish i had that kind of commitment to my imagination when I was a kid. I would have caved the first time my mom got mad at me.

It is psychologically interesting that Calvin could even think this duplicate scam would work at school. If this happened for real, I would be sure he was insane. A total mental break with reality…and for days on end. He could rival Sybil.

When there was still only one duplicate, someone called this arc “A Tale of Two Calvins”. It was actually closer to “The Prince and the Pauper” as Mom refused to believe either Calvin or the duplicate about the duplication. In “The Prince and the Pauper”, neither boy recognized anyone known to the other and this included the Prince’s inability to recognize the Pauper’s mother who mistook him for the Pauper. Both boys were wrongly thought to be mad but the Pauper (who was still thought to be the Prince) was still expected to succeed his father as King whether mad or not.

The poor principal has got that “they don’t pay me enough” look on his face … again.

Looks like the duplicates do not share a hive mind…
