Interesting how in this strip, Hobbes’s whispers were drawn as a bunch of little scribbles, but in a later strip, they were literally written as “spah spah spah spah”.
At one point, at work, I found the portion of the original riot act which was supposed to be read to crowds to tell them to disperse. I tried reading it out loud on one occasion, but I was the only one who was amused.
Last week, I noted that the duplicates only spoke to Calvin and not to Hobbes. I suggested that they may perceive him as a stuffed doll. However, today’s strip shows that they can hear Hobbes although they haven’t acknowledged him before.
Calvin hears a stuffed tiger give sage advise (schizophrenic) and he has five clones (same personality though). This is a comic strip penned and drawn by an absolute genius. And It is funny, amusing, sad and hilarious.

I hope Calvin has had his Dad patent all these inventions.

Maybe if Calvin has Hobbes go to school for him, he’ll get better grades.

I was expecting he would add a reverse switch on the duplicator, but then the story would be over.

All you have to do to alter the controls is use a Sharpie? Too bad George Wells didn’t know about that trick…
