I never heard about this form of Calvinism.

I can think of at least three strips where Calvin mentions the snow demons: this, the snow goons story, and I think the one where he’s laying on his sled demanding them to make it snow.

Flashback to the old rusty incinerator that lived in our back yard until I was about 6 and then suddenly vanished (probably while I was at school or something). I had forgotten all about that until now.

Who needs snow? I was flipping the chanels yesterday evening, and I saw some ski jumpers in a place where there wasn’t any snow. They used Astroturf instead.

Living in South Texas, I know quite a bit about warm winters…

Calvin shows his theological side again tomorrow.

I recently mentioned that I thought the strip about Calvin wondering whether tigers go to the same Heaven as humans is due for a reprint. I’ve checked one of my Calvin and Hobbes books and I see that it is due to be reprinted tomorrow.

Someone recently asked when we will see the snowmen. I replied that the snow was due in December. I see from my recent inspection of a Calvin and Hobbes book that the first snow will actually come a week today and Calvin and Hobbes will be seen playing in the snow a week tomorrow. The snowmen – or snow goons this time – do not appear until January.

I live in Florida, the damn snow demons are merciless.

I mentioned in one of my replies today that Calvin’s environmental concerns have been an influence on me. They are certainly among the most likeable things about Calvin. However, in this strip it is Dad rather than Calvin who expresses Bill Watterson’s environmental concerns.

Just google “Bloody Snowmen” images. Some very ‘creative’ folks out there.

Got some hail yesterday, no snow yet. Not likely either and I’m fine with that.

Yup. This is pretty much the way cults start. I think Calvin has a future in snow boarding.

I always wondered how such a wacko kid that has trouble with school can use such intelligent words and phrases.

I’ve always wondered if burning the leaves pollutes more than dumping them into massive trucks and driving them many miles away.

Burning leaves – pollution? Balony.

Well – that explains it. Burning leaves has been banned in our community for a few decades now And, we have less and less snow each year (3” last year). So, there must be a correlation!

Is that why we don’t have snow in the desert? No leaves to burn?

Coming from the eastern part of the globe, you need the AC blaring whole day when now. The Toboggan may come handy here as well.

Interesting to see Calvin get spiritual. But will he always believe that over science?

The smell of burning leaves is at least as pleasing to the Snow Gods as the smell of burning sheep flesh is pleasing to (Jewish) God.

I think Calvin’s grasp of theology is spot on!
