Now try to stress out, Mrs. Tyler, so we can really find the right area of your brain.

We’ll see exactly what claustrophobia looks like.

Fortunately, I have been able to control my claustrophobia for the times I’ve had to experience that.

Personally, I could tolerate going head first into one of those big medical scanners either head first or feet first. However, I definitely get how they could make people uncomfortable.

I’ve had 5 MRI’s and one Cat-Scan of my brain the are not that bad just close your eyes and listen to the beat of the machine.

I give it an “82” the beat is good but the lyrics are hard to sing along to

Ah, yes, Bleeb. This is a great place for you to visit. Now, just wait until she is in there, then climb up to the end of the tube.

Rather like the old joke about waking up a patient to give them their sleeping pill.

I was apprehensive for my first MRI due to my claustrophobia. I explained my situation to the techs and asked them to show me how to get out of it if I started to feel any panic. They did, and we did a trial to make sure I knew I could get out. I don’t mind those tests at all. My tinnitus is louder than the machinery anyway. The techs get to visit with my dog during the test, so we all end up happy.

Get a damp wash rag and put it over your face, close your eyes and relax.

I don’t have claustrophobia, but lying in one of those machines, trying not to move for 90 minutes is far from relaxing. They are insanely loud, one I was in also generated so much heat that I was sweating against the vinyl table, and even when you stay perfectly still, they still complain that you moved. Overall, not so bad, just inconvenient. In one, I just counted the holes in the speaker grill above my head. It was something like 168.
