This is so accurate that it’s sadly funny. They want to push pills on me for a condition they can’t explain, which have side effects. I’m not getting any symptoms from the condition, so…I know what my choice is.
If you have a complaint, your doctor with prescribe a medication that cures your symptom, but gives you four more complaints. Then the doctor will prescribe four new medications for those complaints leading to a dozen new complaints…
When I was young, I hated that I was spending so much money on insurance when I never got sick. I’m making up for it now. Brain surgery, knee replacement, broken elbow. Right now in recovery from broken shoulder.
I am 72 and have lived alone since my husband died nearly 20 years ago, taking care of my place in the Cascade foothills, shoveling snow, hauling wood, tending my home, picking up branches…it can be done and between that and how I eat, I think that’s why I stay healthy. And my mom’s genes (she lived to 92).
a relative of mine, who is quite sickly, once said if he knew he was gonna live this long, he woulda taken better care of himself thruout his life… and he’s only about 70. While I know stuff happens, the odds are definitely in your favor if you try to take care while you’re younger…

Yeah, basically that’s what the medical industry offers us all as we age.

How short of time?

If ever given the choice, I would choose the ‘short time feel great’ option. Don’t like the thought of extending misery.

Lessee… short time great, long time lousy. Hmmm.
Naaaaah, what else ya got?!

I’ll go with short and great, I’ve seen long and lousy

Yup, that’s the option the docs gave me about a Whipple operation. I’m now suffering through the ‘live longer and regret it’ recovery.

With the “feel great” option, are we talking about energetic and hale, or do you mean drugged up and high?

I don’t wanna be sick & tired. Live it up. Be more sweet & not worry about being right as much.

Delay of death does not actually qualify as a life saving event.
Qualified obstetricians know what I mean.

You can eat a diet you really hate but you will live an extra ten years… and you can spend that extra time, uh, eating a diet you really hate.

No brainer. I’ll take quality over quantity any day. Oh, and I’m in my 70s so it could be an issue in the not too distant future.
