I’m a “lunatic fringe” left-winger who realized Obama was a fraud before the election. I proudly voted for Brian Moore, the candidate of the Socialist Party.

Might the (election) result have been different if not for the “Palin Factor”? (e.g., if the Republican ticket had been McCain-Romney?)

I get sick of saying Obama’s a fraud. He is exactly as advertised – and though that’s not my ideal, it didn’t take a genius to see what you were getting. And he was a whole heck of a lot better than McCain with or without nutjob Palin.

Comments which allegedly took place in 1952:

Woman to Adlai Stevenson: “Every thinking American will vote for you [for President].”

Stevenson to woman: “Thank you madam, but I’ll need more votes than that.”

Insulting I know, but it’s meant to be: Anyone who considers Sarah Palin a viable candidate for President of the United States is revealing themselves as being the political equivalent of a shopping bag lady.

it is supposed to be 12/12/12 , a little more than a month after the US presidential election…..

maybe the shock of such an utter catastrophic , unspeakable election result suggested in panel 4 taking place triggers the demise of our , up until now, durable old planet

Babka, Thanks for enlightening me. I thought he was…….

As for mixing of the holidays, years ago as I was serving my country at the request of my president, I and several of my buds went caroling singing Christmas songs to the other squads and especially to the Korean workers. About half way through, one of my friends turned to me and said, “What the heck am I doing? Me, a good Jewish boy singing Christmas carols in a Heathen land?” I am sure James would not have missed it for the world.

Fer Lefer said, about 10 hours ago “Left wing, right wing… I don’t understand all the discussion: you have to use both, if you want to fly…”

Fer Lefer, great observation, now if only we could get it to work.

Joe-Allen, In the upper midwestern states, i.e. Minnesota and Wisconsin, “you betcha” is a very common term

    Roger that, Doc Toon.

Even as a die-hard Republican I seriously considered Clinton for Pres if she would have made the nomination. Not because she was the best candidate but because she was the least objectionable. From either side of the isle…

And I’m getting real tired of voting for the person I think will do the least amount of damage instead of the person who will do the best job while in office.

2012 will be the year of the third party…

Yesterday, montessoriteacher said, “My orthopaedic surgeon husband is working today too. I wish he was home with his daughter and I.”

Does the Montessori method exclude lessons in grammar? “… with his daughter and ME.” The preposition “with” takes the OBJECTIVE case, whether the object is simple or compound. Are there no decent schools left in this country?

laughaday - No… thanks to the liberal wing of the Democrat party and the teachers’ unions.

For the rest, its hard to drain the swamp when you are up to your a$$ in alligators.

From the left, I also deplore the solecisms in these posts. And I do in part blame liberal educational policies and the teachers’ unions. In part. But I haven’t noticed that the conservative wing here is a model of correctness, political or otherwise. The old style of schooling too often was dull and unimaginative, but the new style sometimes throws out the baby with the bath water. Perhaps, at least, we can all do our best in these posts.

Good grammar, however, counts less than good argumentation.

Supposedly, the Maya calendar ends (really, it re-cycles) on 21 December 2012. Naturally, there’s screaming in the streets about it, and another disaster movie out (called, no less, 2012). The joke’ll be on us that Christmas.
