Transcript:
Ann: "So you sent your pals to, what? Catch me cheating? Then what? You'd tattle to corporate?"
TJ: "You shouldn't be manager, Ann"
TJ: "But I AM, TJ. Know why? Because I'm SMART. Ok, sure. I con a bit. But I con smart"
unfortunately āconā is probably not strong enough of a term in this situation. she could probably weasel out of that. now she knows tj is really a threat. she could fire him but he could sue for retaliatory termination. she would lose all those extra sales tj generates. they really should have been cooler in their little trap.
chihuahuamama, it may be schoolyard quality in your eyes, but the very same ātrickā brought down ACORN, AND a similar tactic just netted a democrat representativesā son (who was helping with his fathersā campaign) openly planning and describing how to steal identities and vote for people who had not voted. It may be a ācheap trickā, bit it IS effective.
If Ann was as smart as she thinks she is ā she wouldnāt have bragged about the con. LIke in poker ā you donāt show your hole cards for nothing. An interesting thought ā what did TJ do all day before he had this job? Maybe this game with Ann is more fun than he has otherwise. And Ann is fun for the eyesā¦
Thatās the smoking gun-an admission that she ācons a bitā? You mean like every other salesperson in the world? No specifics,no proof-itās highly highly unlikely this would even result in a warning, much less a firing. Of course you have real life, and then you have this strip, which is about as realistic as Steven Seagalās hair. And no reason why Ann canāt fire TJ for insubordination-heās clearly guilty. Oh,and I guess you could say he ācons a bitā too
All of this could only exist in the comic world decreed by Evans. In real life, increased sales or no, Ann would have sacked a threat like T.J. a long time ago. Itās rather like the TV show House. Dr. House could have literally raised the dead and he still would have been dismissed; no institutional administrator Iāve ever seen would have long put up with Houseās disruptions and disregard of protocol. (Also, Houseās malpractice insurance premiums alone would probably have bankrupted the hospital.)
Actually, by law you need to tell the person they are being recorded , otherwise it is considered an invasion of privacy and inadmissible as evidenceā¦ unless you have a court-ordered warrant.
come on people. this isnāt the 80s or even the 90s. the second she says that, TJās phone should have backed itself on the cloud or something. thereās no reason why there should be a game of trying to steal that phone from TJ. if anything, it should be resignation that it would be on Youtube or Facebook.
You missed his pointā¦ sufffering and dead people donāt spend as much (or any) money. Hence why corporations will go out of their way to make customers happy and coming back. Example: at a King Soopers recently, a bottle of cider I bought rang up at a dollar more expensive, which I only noticed after Iād paid at the self checkout. I told the cashier, who paid me back for the entire gallon of cider. I had just expected a dollar. Did it cost the corporation? Short term, a little. Long term? I still shop at King Soopers and just told this nice story about them.
ā¦good point N-Gā¦examples: corps. that produce cigarettesā¦and āfranken-foodsāā¦and apropos to nothing in particularā¦didnāt the SCOTUS recently rule that a corporation is a person??ā¦hmmmā¦
