unfortunately “con” is probably not strong enough of a term in this situation. she could probably weasel out of that. now she knows tj is really a threat. she could fire him but he could sue for retaliatory termination. she would lose all those extra sales tj generates. they really should have been cooler in their little trap.

chihuahuamama, it may be schoolyard quality in your eyes, but the very same ‘trick’ brought down ACORN, AND a similar tactic just netted a democrat representatives’ son (who was helping with his fathers’ campaign) openly planning and describing how to steal identities and vote for people who had not voted. It may be a ‘cheap trick’, bit it IS effective.

If Ann was as smart as she thinks she is – she wouldn’t have bragged about the con. LIke in poker – you don’t show your hole cards for nothing. An interesting thought – what did TJ do all day before he had this job? Maybe this game with Ann is more fun than he has otherwise. And Ann is fun for the eyes…

That’s the smoking gun-an admission that she “cons a bit”? You mean like every other salesperson in the world? No specifics,no proof-it’s highly highly unlikely this would even result in a warning, much less a firing. Of course you have real life, and then you have this strip, which is about as realistic as Steven Seagal’s hair. And no reason why Ann can’t fire TJ for insubordination-he’s clearly guilty. Oh,and I guess you could say he “cons a bit” too

All of this could only exist in the comic world decreed by Evans. In real life, increased sales or no, Ann would have sacked a threat like T.J. a long time ago. It’s rather like the TV show House. Dr. House could have literally raised the dead and he still would have been dismissed; no institutional administrator I’ve ever seen would have long put up with House’s disruptions and disregard of protocol. (Also, House’s malpractice insurance premiums alone would probably have bankrupted the hospital.)

    I like this showdown.

TJ has been on this project for so long, it’s going to need a huge payoff. I don’t think this is the week.

Why was the Quill story dropped? Quill told Luann many weeks ago they need to talk and then it was dropped. What about Brad and Toni?

Actually, by law you need to tell the person they are being recorded , otherwise it is considered an invasion of privacy and inadmissible as evidence… unless you have a court-ordered warrant.

come on people. this isn’t the 80s or even the 90s. the second she says that, TJ’s phone should have backed itself on the cloud or something. there’s no reason why there should be a game of trying to steal that phone from TJ. if anything, it should be resignation that it would be on Youtube or Facebook.

You missed his point… sufffering and dead people don’t spend as much (or any) money. Hence why corporations will go out of their way to make customers happy and coming back. Example: at a King Soopers recently, a bottle of cider I bought rang up at a dollar more expensive, which I only noticed after I’d paid at the self checkout. I told the cashier, who paid me back for the entire gallon of cider. I had just expected a dollar. Did it cost the corporation? Short term, a little. Long term? I still shop at King Soopers and just told this nice story about them.
