It’s funny how the folks I know who swore they never argued ended up getting divorced. When you get married, you knowingly step into a bed of compromises. It’s not for everyone, it’s not easy, but it is good.

My first marriage was a Bed of Roses! She’s not among us anymore. My second wife was not happy at all.

You guys do realize that lawyers are behind this…with Gay Marriages there are more; prenups, adoptions, separations, divorces, support, child support and settlements, all of course with the appropriate billable hours and fees.

Still working on the first. Two days ago, both of us forgot it was our 32nd anniversary. We’re perfect for each other.

Yes, I noticed. I am predicting a binder may be coming on the scene soon. Somehow folks got on the topic of evolution yesterday, which was not really on topic either, but it happened.

I don’t believe any truly happy marriage is without some conflict. Every loving couple has to have some disagreements that are either solved or at least soon fade away. I think it true: the opposite of love is not hate, but indifference.`As the Bedouin Arabs remind us, an excess of sunshine makes for deserts.

What it would really mean would be a greater societal acceptance, therefore it would be more supported by said society, and it takes that to create societal stability.

And brother, could the United States use more stability in its society!!! :-( :-( :-(

And I’ve said for years I it would be a dumb divorce lawyer who wouldn’t be behind legalizing gay marriage 100%. THEY know more butter when they see it, and are always looking for more ways to enhance their little slice of bread. >^..^<

Just read an article about GT’s inker, Don Carlton, who seems to live fairly close to where I live. Don is now 75, and has been working for GT for 41 years. Don says that GT is allowed 6 weeks off per year. All of this explains a lot. I hadn’t thought about all of those stats before.

GT faxes Don the line pencil drawings and Don inks them in and adds extra little details. Don also worked for Gary Larsen of The Far Side for a couple years.

Remember, “Blue skies up above, everyone’s in love” (from “Up a Lazy River” song). “Blue skies up above” means no rain down below. And, “Everyone’s in love” means people are delusional.

Michelle’s “debate” dress was DOUBLE that of Ann’s.

So what’s your point, CJ? That the Barack-Michelle marriage is twice as successful as the Mitt-Ann marriage?

Hey NG49 and DTpi, I’ve been reading President Obama’s book,“Dreams From my Father”. Sorry to get off subject but reruns are reruns. On page 144 and 145 of above said book, President Obama says that the two years in public school in Malaysia were in Moslem school. He also mentions the two years in Catholic school. He goes on to mention that he got in trouble for making faces in Koranic (his spelling) studies. To be fair, this was also where he mentioned a great deal of inattentiveness in Catholic school. Now, I am not trying be a labelist. I just wanted to point out that my previous research was incomplete.>>As far as this week’s topic is concerned, I really don’t care if gays get married or serve in the military. If they ask me, I will tell them God’s word. However, it’s up to God to judge and not me. Truth to tell, I am grateful for that. I am one of those that takes an individual as an individual, not as a group. In other words, good treatment will be returned with good treatment.
