Mornin’ 60sFan, VistaBill, margueritem, Gweedo and all you latecomers!Love this story – the cosplayers element would only work with somebody used to “costumes,” and giving Broadway a backstory in a certain other city – explaining his dislike for them – was brilliant!
Morning all. Silly question, but is that green thing in Belle’s hair supposed to be a barrette? I noticed it yesterday when it was colored white (there were actually two yesterday, one on either side of her head).
Maybe Broadway is like Mole, Pear Shape, and Influence, and has gone straight, and has left Gotham to be rid of his brother, and the costumed wierdess of that city?
So, Broadway feels it is his job to do something about these “costumes,” even though they’ve probably never even heard of him, ehh? Well, there’s a weakness on display already!
I’m waiting to see what’s on the business end of that cane of his. I’m thinking it might be pretty sharp! His brother’s umbrellas always had a way of being pretty sneaky…
The term Yellow Journalism came from the comics pages, when cartoonist RF Outcault left one paper to join another (in a case very similar to that of the Captain and the Kids episode):
Ever notice how criminals in the comics always buy a paper just to read the headline story (Which, is somehow always exactly the story they are looking for), then just throw it away without reading the rest of the paper?
i wonder how many of you all would complain if the gocomics colorist colored the newspaper WHITE and it then blended into the background in the last panel when it is crumpled on the ground? the headline, paper’s name, and pics of black pirahana and cinnamon knight would have been floating in a white null void and youd STILL comp0lain about it. instead of nitpicking these little things, why not just READ teh strip and enjoy the stories that we are given by mike, joe and the rest of team tracy? even tho i am not a fan of this one… yet.. i can still appreciate the artwork and time put into it by team tracy. it seems lately that everyone simply logs onto the site to bitch about the colorist and their errors. i highly DOUBT thats what the site is set up for, but hey.. it is what you make of it. me? its a place to read my favorite newspaper strip of all time and fall back into tracy’s world after being away for so many years. overall i have been RIDICULOUSLY happy with the strip and its ALWAYS the first thing i read in the morning… and i dont even pay attention to the pics most of the time, i read the text first then read all of your complaints and nitpicks, THEN go back to look at the pics. just READ TEH STORY and ignore the little errors here and there.. its a MUCH MORE FUN experience if you do!
Does anyone have a newspaper that carries Dick Tracy? Did they have the Sunday strip? Will “Moon Maid” turn out to be one of these costumed characters?
The coloring stinks again today. NightShade is right; it’s so bad it’s a distraction. Instead of following the story and admiring the great artwork, you can only think, “Dude! What’s up with that YELLOW newspaper?!”
I don’t mean to change the subject when people are having so much fun, but….I was just reading up on Belle over at the Wikia site. She may look like a sweet girl with those hair clips(?), but she likes to con old people, and once fired a gun at Tracy that ended up killing one of Bates’ men. Bad Belle!
As someone suggested goto kingdom comics there you will find the missing sunday ( very interesting ) and the colors are correct no yelloe paper but white etc

Maybe that’s the reason they pulled the Sunday strip – they didn;t want us to see it colored correctly!

Oh the magpies are a chattering
Just listen to their nattering
The colours are untrue
This strip they shall eschew
Their sensibilities are offended
For them reality has been suspended
Really what could be any worse
Well, perhaps this little verse
So just take it all in stride
We are in for a real nice ride
Now all of you just make nice
Things will be explained in a trice.

We were all able to see Sunday’s strip on GoComics the same day courtesy of Tarry Plaguer. Thanks again, Tarry!
