I drew this earlier tonight, while i’m thinking this new MM is likely a clone, it seems as if they have fed her the original MMs memories, with that in mind, I came up with this:

I have to say, I can’t recall the last time there was this much excitement in a continuity strip! THANK YOU TEAM TRACY for making DICK TRACY an enjoyable strip again, and bringing it back to life! I am SO happy that HONEYMOON is a central figure, and following in the footsteps of her Grandfather. I can only HOPE that Moon Maid will return to the strip.

I think we’re getting a Christmas present!

I like Staton’s approach to today’s strip — Honeymoon vivid and squarely at the center of things visually, everything else shadows and mystery.

Consider this —somehow, the clone theory that is being floated-around this thread is also making sense to me. Both DT and Junior have recently confirmed, without any doubt, that MM was blown to smithereens on that fateful day in ‘78. Long-time DT fans also know there are (at least) 2 Space Coupes in circulation, as Diet Smith gave one to the Moon Governor, a long time ago. Could it be that "Moon Maid’s" cohorts from a few months ago maybe STOLE that second Space Coupe, and perhaps some of her DNA in the process?

Hmmmm, with all the speculation of cloning here, if the Moon Maid we have seen is a clone is she the work of Dr. Zy Ghote? Diet Smith was interested in the Doctors work, could he have gotten him in touch with the Moon People? Lot’s of fun speculation, I can’t wait to see the answers!

Yes, the clone and Zy Ghote theories have surfaced many times since August. Rapid regeneration could take numerous forms (welcome back, Spock), with vastly different implications for Honeymoon, the strip and future story-lines. I anticipate things taking a much more interesting turn than a misguided clone having an identity crisis. Team Tracy has given us ample reason to expect to be delighted and amazed, however things play out. While I hope and believe we are moving toward the return of the real Moon Maid, however the recovery and regeneration works, the strip and speculation are delightful fun. What a pleasure it is to experience the fabulous revitalization of Gould’s creation.

I am excited that we might be seeing the Moon Governor and his wife. I always liked them. I thought Moon Maid’s mother was attractive! I just remember that they always watched Earth with their LUNA TV, couldn’t he have been monitoring his daughter and transported her right before she turned that key? It’s happened before on the SCI-FI network. LOL

Diet Smith Industries, and Diet himself! But why all the secrecy? —Especially if Smith can fly his space coupe without detection? This seems to be something Tracy and Smith cooked up; a trip to the moon? Why? Nothing but questions!

This particular strip will be my new favorite strip. The concept of having Honey meeting more of her species is exceptionally wonderful. Thank you gentlemen for bringing this out so long after Mr. Gould introduced us to the Moon maid.

Another theory is that Dick could be playing Santa.

“Why did she not contact Junior or her daughter in all that time?”

Why? Because the writer/artist team of Collins/Fletcher pretty much wanted to eradicate all hints of the moon era from 1978 going-forward. As Max Allan Collins had a later collaboration with most recent DT writer/artist Dick Locher, I suspect everything was pretty much “status quo” — that is, until now…

As the strip goes — if this is indeed Moon Maid, it will either be amnesia, guilt, or maybe both?
