Cathy Classics by Cathy Guisewite for June 20, 2015
Transcript:
Mom: The reception site we like holds 125 people and costs $45 a person, for a total of $5,625. We have a total wedding budget of $10,000, and so far have 982 people on the guest list. Time to ask the tough questions, dear... Cathy: Can the Wilsons bring their kids? Mom: Why not? And how about all the Nekervis grandchildren?! Dad: (Is there any stopping a perfectly matched mother/daughter team?).

You don’t need a calculator. Go small, reduce that guest list by hundreds of people and save your money.

Most of the would be guests will thank you for not being invited, anyways. Weddings can be expensive to attend. (and the marriage usually lasts less than 7 years after all that effort to wish them well)

Wow, these 2 are totally in denial and their math skills are terrible! Even if they only have 125 people come to the wedding and have no add-ons (doubtful), they’re already over halfway into their wedding budget. And of course, Cathy must have the ultimate wedding dress so there goes the entire budget. I think rgcviper is subconsciously doing an eyeroll in the middle of his vacation and he doesn’t even know why..Hello Cathy friends! Happy Saturday!

I have a couple of eyerolls left that I did not use this week for rgcviper so will use them up now – plus a couple of my own for good measure.

If you want a guest list that size, have the wedding in a park pavilion, and serve cake and lemonade. Otherwise, time to simplify.

Yup—you guys called it on my [eye-roll] today. To that, I’ll add an AACK! (Like we have to ask why …)
