I know people who have a gift closet but not to this extent. When my kids were younger and went to birthday parties, it would have been helpful, but now, nope. Too much to keep track of.

My father did not have a gift closet but he did start shopping for the next Christmas before the current one arrived. The Christmas after he died we had fun wrapping and distributing a whole cabinet full of gifts. Not sure they were distributed the way he would have but everyone in the family was happy to have him with us in spirit that Christmas.
Yikes! Less that a week before Christmas day and the tree is not decorated yet and I have not even started wrapping yet. Darn Christmas productions anyway (but it was worth it!!). Guess I had better get started – tomorrow.
I have a stash of gifts…especially since covid…I bought gifts for people that I haven’t been able to get together with the past couple of years. It does come in handy. I also buy gifts all through the year, so I don’t have to sit in traffic trying to get anywhere near the mall this time of year.

After a few years of regifting, I have a pretty extensive gift closet myself. Sometimes nobody wants what I don’t want.

With my Mom it is a Decorations Closet. She ran a middle school computer lab for decades and was prepared for every holiday contingency. :)
