Monday I tied blue ribbons in her hair before she went to school. Tuesday I packed her teddy bear and she was off to camp. Friday I drove her to college with her silver flute. Sunday she moved to Manhattan with her fiance.

Will the neighbors on East 35th Street please see that she doesn’t dawdle on her way to work? She’s the one with the flute and the teddy bear and the blue ribbons in her hair.

So that’s what Mimi will look like in the future…I wonder if the strip will progress that far.

just like the subaru commercial with the dad and the little girl. cats in the cradle with a silver spoon. and, fathers still think their daughters are little girls dragging that blanket everywhere, even if the daughter is 25.

Mimi’s mother (as seen in yesterday’s strip) is blonde.

Simple. Both parents were blonde when they were little. Their hair darkened overtime. Speaking as a “towhead” myself. However, I do believe that Mimi’s mom is blonde (see yesterday’s cartoon with the tea set)

Dark hair is dominant. Blonde hair is recessive. Parents can express dark hair but still carry the recessive gene. Now, if both parents are blond/e and they had a dark-haired child, there’d be some explaining to do…

Hey Rick, if blond is the recessive gene you can get blond hair if both your parents carry that gene. Both my parents have brown eyes. I have blue. I look exactly like my dad so there was no milk man involved. By the way both my grandmothers were blond hair blue eyed tall women. Me too. Except I am 1 inch shorter. Being 5 foot 10 in 1920 was exceptionally tall. They both suffered. Mostly from the other women because they were a head taller.

Genotypes: two from each parent. One in four chance of a blonde if both parents are phenotypically dark haired but genotypically dark/blonde, with the blonde trait being recessive. Clear enough for yah?
