A TensionâŠ. âThe only snack bar that will not just satisfy your craving, but also makes you feel like youâre the only one getting fedâ âRush for a Tension bar⊠before itâs all goneâ ⊠from AllyueâŠ.. â Your World EntertainmentâŠ. âAvailable for almost any occaision⊠as long as itâs not boring us, tooâ â and byâŠLove City⊠âCome and visit the only place with all one-way streets⊠T. Farell, Mayor-Maynotteâ
Tiffany wants to be an actress. An actress craving attention? That happens only in the comics pages, Iâm sure. However, it seems that in the first panel the underclassman is in fact being very attentive to Tiffany, based on the fact that he is staring into her chest. An underclassman staring at a gorgeous senior? Again, this never happens in real life, so of course it makes for a hilarious cartoon!
Vanity goeth before a fall. Tiffany is vain and craves attention, but somehow I think somebody is going to end up doing some community service with real seniors
And to think that Dr. Feelgoodâs name is Harold. He always seemed more like a Roy to me for some reason. AnywayâŠ.
This is how Iâm working out the deal with the miniature freshman. Remember when âPitts Schoolâ was sometimes called âPitts Junior-Senior High Schoolâ? In my head, that is what Iâm telling myself. So when Luann, Bernice and Delta were gawking at who they called â9th gradersâ the other day, they really meant to say â7th gradersâ. Because Iâd believe that kid in the last panel is 12 or 13 if not a very late bloomer.
Aha! This is a flashback to Gunther when he started Jr-Sr High School. He met Tiffanyâs mentor and this is the result. Can you really blame him for being âscaredâ of âprettyâ women?
Ironically, my niece (senior) and nephew (freshman) are now attending the same HS together. I was a little worried that my niece would try to boss my nephew around a lot, but what with all the âanti-bullyingâ emphasis, these days, Iâm assured it wonât happen.
I just hope Tiff doesnât run afoul of those âzero-toleranceâ policies. We need her. Certainly Luann needs her as a counter-foil.
PS. (Off topic)⊠I canât get over the fact that when I last saw my niece/nephew this past Sat., my nieceâs BF was over the house. And his black BMâer was in the driveway!!! Nice kid, but a BMâer???
We all gotta know that the small freshman are simply an artistic technique so as to make their years clearly distinct. In reality, most kids are about fully height by 9th grade, they are just really skinny. But the technique works, makes the point, and is funny too.
Our Tiff of late sure has been the shallow Tiff, not the clever and conniving Tiff that actually thinks, gets things done, stirs the pot, and wins the roles. If the shallow side prevails she is destined for that golden pole, or a convenient marriage where she continues to be the neighborhood/community trouble maker. (Or husband stealer.) Course weâll never live long enough to see any of that due to Luann-time.
I have an absolutely free âOxford commaâ for the Poster-maker. And who says Tiff doesnât get it? She is, after all, very much âseniorâ to the poor freshman! âBut it is nice to see Luann quipping at Tiffâs expense again.
Letâs not be too self-righteous guys. Who amongst us has NOT read a sign, agreed with it because it flattered us, and missed seeing the hook at the end? * I have met the fish, and she is we.
Idiotic to refer to old people as âseniorsâ?*I proudly get senior coffee at Mickey Ds, Burger King, IHOP. Itâs a heck of a lot better than getting âOld Farts Coffeeâ. What I truly love is the quizzical look of the cashier, apparently wondering if Iâm old enough to qualifyâ though Iâm still anxiously waiting for someone to card me.
never heard of it being a PREREQUISITE to graduating.^I did say manyâŠâŠ.. itâs not a universal, federally mandated requirement.. however, it as of late has become a trend for local and statewide school systems to require some form⊠as one poster mentioned, in their area, it is 100 hrs.,.. it varies from place to place, and method to methiodâŠ. some actually require that the service demonstrate what the student learned, as opposed to just a âwork studyâ⊠â Like youâve said, students do have enough on their plate⊠but in some ways, learning to be aware of community issues and learning to get a sense of helping ones other than yourself can be tools in development and community value.. if only it didnât fly in the face of our âself-gratifyingâ societyâŠ. â DGMW, tests can be useful, but it sure does seem like a lot , in both the amount of tests, and the different kinds⊠it seems to benefit the teachers, admin. and school systemâs demonstration of their effectiveness to their superiors more, than just for the studentâs benefit⊠if only there could be more balanceâŠ.
Maybe this is a preview to a visit to the nursing home to visit Luannâs liddle ole lady friend, whose name I canât recall. The one who used to own Brads house. What was it?
I tried to reply to Sisyphosâs comment, but the âresponseâ space keeps vanishing. And sorry if some of my comments are duplicated. Am I the only one having trouble making the GoComics site work today?
Luannâs comment about âwe deserve to be entertainedâ is drawn directly from the wording of the poster, so itâs a cute commentary on both the Tiffâs reaction to the poster, and the poster itself.
If it were any other gal saying that, I would think she meant âYOU! a little attention up here!â As in: âHey, my eyes are up here!â However, he doesnât look like he looking anywhere in the first frame â just moving along the hallway.
I think it could be made obvious the kids are younger without making them tiny like that. My daughter is still in Middle school and is taller than some seniors in HS.
There was also a supersized picture on here, earlier⊠maybe that made the page difficult for a time, especially if there was âhostingâ involvedâŠ..
What happened to my post on MJ supporting the NRA^^UmmmmâŠ. I hate guns and think of the NRA as a bunch of moronic troglodytes who barely share a brain between them.
And what about words that are spelled the same but pronounced differently, such as lead (to be in front) and lead (a dense metal, rhymes with head)?^Closer to a Homograph..
Two words that are written in the same way but that are pronounced differently and have different meanings. An example is sow, which can mean to put seeds in the ground, but when pronounced differently refers to a female pig.See also homonym(from Oxford Dictionary)
No. You shouldnât post. Your posts are generally disturbing, offensive and foolish. I see several from the morning are gone and thatâs a good thing.
