Coming Soon đ At the beginning of April, youâll be
introduced to a brand-new GoComics! See more information here. Subscribers, check your
email for more details.
Girl 1: What are you doing this weekend? Girl 2: Driving around with my folks looking at foilage. Girl 1: Hahaha! It's foliage! Not something that rhymes with "spoilage"! Frazz: What's the weekend agenda, Glenda? Girl 2: Looking at leaves and stuff.
Correcting people in public is bad? What are teachers supposed to do when a child makes a mistake in front of the whole class? Or the same child is out with parents and does something VERY wrong? Are they to allow the behavior to continue until an âappropriateâ time at some unforeseen time in the future? NO. Correct IMMEDIATELY when the problem is detected! Then drop it. Donât harp on it, just continue on. It gives the person time to think about it without being focused on. If the behavior continues, itâs not a new one, and itâs ingrained. You should have paid them more attention before then.
The eastern sierra fall color was just jaw dropping this year, especially against a little early snow. High elevations are all browned out now, but hiking weather is just perfect.
I donât know⊠I always intentionally mispronounce things. Itâs an ongoing joke in my family and most of my friends to emPHAcise the wrong syLLAble. That, or say something like Foilage (rhymes with spoilage) to say fo-li-age⊠I wonder if itâs something like that in Glendaâs family, and she just didnât think about it before saying it to someone who doesnât get it.
How about new-cue-ler instead of new-clee-er (for nuclear)? Or preventative instead of preventive? They were both wrong when I was in school, but now even news reporters use them. Luckily, my schools also taught me that language evolves as people use it.
Youâve made a nice play on words. Mute implies no capacity for speech. Moot, would indicate the issue is open to argument. Youâre correct, of course, correcting someone in public is very rude. Enjoy your day⊠SSJ

Pronunciation is not grammar.

I do rather agree with @kieth kunz. Wince and move on. Wonder what the stuff is in âleaves and stuffâ. A Sasquatch perhaps?

âItâs a moot pointâ. Oops. :D

âŠand as those of us who despise âsmooth jazzâ have noted, âNew Ageâ rhymes with âsewage.â
By the way, is this strip a repeat? I could swear I saw this gag in one of the Frazz booksâŠ

Grammer police? I think sheâs a spelling cop. Nothing wrong with that. Except that it wonât make you any friends with the low-brow demographic.

I thought she said it on purpose. The trip probably foiled her original plans for the weekend.

As the potato said after being wrapped in shiny aluminum before being put in to the oven: âCurses, foiled again!â
