L that sorta makes sense, except who is talking like a machine cyborg in the unattached rectangles? Or are these rectangles actually Wally’s thoughts. We also still do not know if these were the dittos Wally brought, or a different colony? If the are a different colony, are they feral, or is the another “ditto whisperer” here, using generator? Marx or another? See, we have much to speculate on over the weekend. It’s the first of the month for Aaron also, with fresh bills or medical requirements. I guessed as much. I’m glad to know I was right. But what I can’t guess is what happened to the town.

The dust people still seem to be real.

I can almost hear the ditto’s evil little snickering..

Twice so far this adventure…that, plus the one they put them through on the Opabinia Queen…so just what are they up to?

I think the dittos might be trying to show him something, maybe what happened?

As I said: The dittos’ way of saying: If keept fretting about the people killed here, the same will happen to you. But I think they’ve overdone it a bit. I blame Marx. I mean, that guy accidently destroyed Washington D.C. at one point, so I’m sure it’s his fault.

The previous illusion was of something Wally had said: If Holly ran too far ahead, the Topsiders could detect her. And then, an imaginary “Topsider scout” saw Holly. Now hordes of imaginary Topsiders appeared in Albion. Perhaps the dittos are expressing Wally’s fear. How much of Albion’s wrecked state is illusion?

If they’re minded to be malevolent, he may not be able to get rid of them!

Wally needs to learn to control the dittos. They can reflect what you fear. When Holly ran Wally feared discovery. In Albion West Wally feared what happened there. Each time the dittos showed Wally his worst fear. To control them Wally must control your own mind.The dittos simply provided visual to his imagination.The dittos are not evil or bad….they are doing what they do.There is no operational manual for them available.I did check online….out of stock at this time and under revision.However the remains of Albion West remain unchanged.Like so many other places there…….a Ghost Town.

I’ve often wondered if the dittos are more intelligent than we give them credit for and assumed that their actions with Wally and Holley are intentionally protective. But Veteran’s explanation makes sense and requires fewer assumptions. Time and Aaron will tell.

Given the response of the dittos to Wally’s shout, I wonder if they are able to somehow hear, or if it’s purely telepathic?In any case, it seems the big question is whether they are sentient and doing these illusions on their own or if they are just automatically projecting whatever is currently Wally’s strongest thoughts?

They might not be Wally’s dittoes, we haven’t seen Marx lately, maybe he got to Albion West too. Also, the piles of dust might not be real either. The whole entrance so far might just be an elaborate camouflage to make actual topsiders think there’s nothing to see here.

I have a new keyboard.It was hard to comment and also my mom died 12/27/13, and lots to do. Funeral was yesterday. Iv’e managed to see the page, but didn’t have comment time.I thought maybe his dittos were hiding them. No new thoughts yet.

In a way, Wally is learning to control, or at least communicate with them by learning to control himself. As he’s learning to control his emotions (in this case, fear) the dittos stop responding to it. Dr. Mallard may have it wrong. They may not be psychic, but empathic.A guess about the dittos. Individually they are not intelligent, but as a group are not only intelligent, but sentient. All the dittos on the planet may be of one mind. The dittos may be wondering which side to help, if at all. These illusions may be tests to check Wally’s reaction to them. The dittos hiding Wally may be the part of the mind that is for helping the anthros or deciding they are an exception to the rule of being uninvolved.

Who’s speaking in the boxes? Wally’s thoughts? Holly from out of the backpack? Someone else?

Guessed good . I felt that it was actions of the dittos. If they could create all the actions of his pre Wally during the flight of the air ship, it seems logical that they dottos could image even a distroyed other town. As well as the TSrs. Guessing Aaron at this point is foolish and waste of comment??? We never seem to guess him down pat.Blessed Be

I got two volumes of Endtown for Christmas—Al and Gustine. How did my grandmother know? And Jenner, your introduction to volume 2 made me laugh. :D

thanks to everyone here. She waS 94 and had Alzheimers for about 15 years. So I had done most of my grieving for her being lost from me before now. Still, never easy.

Perhaps someone should drop in on Hubris and remind Greg Cravens’ fans we’ve been helping Hubris on TWC, and request some reciprocity. I am a little shy to so, because I don’t know the polite way to request votes for Endtown and Doc Rat at Hubris. His main site away from gocomics for Hubris has a TWC button, and when I saw Allan request votes, I added Hubris to my list. I’m guessing the TS used an incendiary device to torch West Alboin, which would remove all the oxygen from the settlement and then went down with zero guns to blast any survivors and dust the bodies.

Wonder if thats how the people in Albion west were killed?They saw dozens of topsiders, so started shooting wildly…and killed one another?Theres been mention that dittos go feral/hostile if not controlled.

On the late update: I can’t formally comment on why today’s strip is late. However, Aaron is putting in a LOT of work on ALL the details on the strips in this current arc, and it’s VERY time consuming. Please be patient.

‘Endtown’ isn’t the only strip not appearing. Someone at Gocomics isn’t doing their job.

I’ll wait it out. Had bad times with their emailing last April…

The problem in April involved GoComics being unable to send e-mail to AOL—-don’t know the why or wherefore of it, what I don’t know about computers could fill a manual—-but it’s long since cleared up.#Just now, though, I couldn’t get the comment box to come up when I hit “Reply”…

By the way, for me, it’s low seventies and supposed to drop to the mid-thirties by the end of the day…for Florida that’s a pretty big deal…
