Who’s scamming whom?

Good morning everyone…

Vitamin Flintheart might be an old man but he’s not a sucker!

The pot thickens considerably! It doesn’t sound excellent to me, from Silver’s point of view. He just got through killing his actor, so I don’t see any prospects for him getting Vitamin his scenes. It seems like the best he’ll get out of this deal is $5,000 unless he’s got an ace up his sleeve (so to speak).

On top of that, if he makes his getaway tonight like he was planning, he gets nothing at all … plus, if he stays in town, Tracy and Catchem will be looking for answers as to why he didn’t follow through with his cover story.

This current storyline is boring. When’s Dick Tracy gonna get exciting again?

Yeah, this is getting weird…..sounds like Silver figures he’d better bail now, cause 300 G’s won’t do him much good in jail…..and thus isn’t really hanging around for Vitamin at all….I mean, with him (Nitrate) knowing Tracy’s involved with Vitamin, he probably wants no part of going through with the deal anyways

This is REALLY getting interesting…..

Nitrate might be getting it that he’s up against a real professional actor. Time to make a ‘Hi-Ho Silver’ getaway!

Is it just me, or does Nitrate look none too happy with Vitamin’s answer?

I think it is likely this story will pep up shortly with Silver deciding that Lena could use some aged ham for dinner.

Silver’s confidence slipped away,All his work had gone astray.He never thought this pompous ham,Would change the deal and wreak his plan.“I shouldn’t stay I need to go”He realized as he watched the snow.It wasn’t worth the risk to stay,There’d always be another day.To scam someone and make a buck,He knew he shouldn’t push his luck! .TY,,TY,, TY!!!!

Flinthart thinks he Captain Video in real live. This is not the movies, so be careful. You cannot take on this on your own. Get Tracy and company involved NOW!!!!

Boring is in the heart of the beholder. This is a very well put together comic strip. Just like the old days…

The expression on Silver’s face in the third panel clearly demonstrates he’s not getting what he wants!

Flintheart has conned the scam “artist”! Cut him down from $300k to just $30k and then to $5k, and with a delay of at least one day. This totally ruins Silver’s “I know what I’m doing” plan to get $300k plus new add-ons all in this same day and then skip town! And it wouldn’t do Silver any good to off Vitamin by feeding him to Lena, either, unless his motivation becomes sheer personal fury and revenge.BTW, does anyone else see an amusing resemblance between Silver in panel 3, with the shades and ciggy, and Steve Dallas of Bloom County?

It’s a testament to the longevity of the strip that Vitamin’s “first film appearance” is on a TV show that didn’t exist when he first appeared in this comic strip. In fact, I’m not sure commercial television existed then.

Hoo, hoo, Flinty ain’t so dumb!!! I hear a great big mousetrap being cocked & loaded here!!

abdullahbaba999 and Chris Jackson: If I recall, CJ is the one who is very hooked on Moon Maid. Likely, only a return to Moon Maid will interest him..That said, there are those for whom straight up detective work may be less interesting than the rather wild space era arc that ran last year, even if it did end with what seemed like a whimper… (Mysta a fake, space coupe dispatched and possibly destroyed, all moon tech destroyed – except Mysta – and no idea who Melies was or what he wants, &c).Lots of loose ends from that arc, none of which appear to be gathered in any time soon.

Méliès and Venus will be back, but probably not until at least after the current story. I think that “Aunt” Mysta will be involved in the current story at some point. The Lunarians may or may not be back, but the door is still open a crack, so maybe.
