Why does so much of the action here take place by a coffee shop counter?

Arye Uygur: The reason much of this strip takes place at a coffee shop counter is most of action in this strip is takes place in what has been called the Pearls’ Diner..Today’s action: While Goat may have the right idea, isn’t that usually Rat’s line?.I used to be a bicyclist before my bike got stolen. One very unfortunate thing is that, while there may be rather few people like Jef out there, most drivers treat all of us as if all of us were Jef…

I hope Jeff catches a crosswind with his cape while cycling.

It’s funny that Frazz is the next strip in my line.

Diner: I read somewhere (comment/interview with Pastis?) that he can’t draw food well, hence the coffee and empty plates.

I really, really want to be there when that cape catches in the sprocket.

I find Jef hilarious. I don’t actually know anyone like him and I’ve known a lot of cyclers. Rat, on the other hand, is a dime a dozen on the internet. I actually find the offense everyone is taking from Jef even more hilarious, though. And compound this based off of the fact that Jef is probably the stand in for Jef Mallett (Frazz), and it becomes even more absurd because he’s nothing like this either!

They should post this series in bike shops…but I fear the cyclists would not get it.

I hesitate to ask about the “wind” source blowing his cape in the last panel.

Why does his cape keep billowing?

It is lucky that he is not humble. Perfection is not safe for mere mortals.

I don’t think they think they’re super-powered; I just think they’re jerks. (And I used to commute by bike, and probably will again.)

No matter where you go, you will always find some jerks. And statistically, you may indeed find more among bicyclists and Prius drivers, for the same reason: look up “Moral License” if you want to see some research on the subject; it’s quite interesting.

I know this has been going on for quite a while, but what has Pastis got against the Frazz cartoonist? I’ve never seen an explanation. I find it a little distressing and disappointing.

I hope Stephan kills this guy off soon, really really soon.

More and more people take a bike.Somebody has taken mine.
