Zipper: Okay, so I get why the good people of Riffles might want to take it slow-- there are many unknowns... neighborhood change, youth access, driving safety-- all of these are solid reasons to oppose pot sales! Voice: But? Zipper: But what? Voice: Weren't you going to argue for it? Zipper: Was I? Where'd this finger come from?

I can’t wait to try pot once it’s legal here. But, if I’ll bet the price per joint will be through the roof. It won’t be a poor man’s vice.

If Zipper is a regular user of pot, then what he’s on now is not just pot. GBT could be playing to the stereotype of pot as debilitating, but except for newbie users it rarely has such an extreme effect. If GBT is not just taking a potshot, as it were, then it should turn out that Zipper is on a prescription drug—several of them can cause this behavior.

Oh, I had a REALLY GOOD point to make on this but I FORGOT it already! And it was REALLY GOOD too!

I can’t believe we are getting seemingly anti-legalization strips from Trudeau.Making drugs illegal has not kept drugs off the streets but it has increased violence of all kinds as drug lords fight law enforcement to keep the supply flowing. It has resulted in a militarization of law enforcement and an increase in police brutality. It has caused an increased indifference for the bill of rights and the constitution. Please google Portugal and drug legalization. Since legalizing all drugs, crime rates have dropped, law enforcement costs have dropped and addiction rates are at the same level or lower than when drugs were criminal.

More importantly, the number of synthetic drugs that were made to take the place of marijuana have increased in number and toxicity. Stop the madness.
No – I do not smoke pot. I am allergic to it and yes, I learned that by experience. It’s the one thing I have in common with Clinton and Bush II – we all used illegal drugs but didn’t get caught.

I don’t see Trudeau as anti-legalization. He tends to poke fun at many otherwise sacred cows.As for positive results in Portugal, don’t expect Americans to emulate anything Europeans do, no matter how well it actually works.

At this pace, it will take potheads another century to let their reasons be heard! (Which I agree with, by the way) :)

Also more pollution, more risky behaviour, doctors on pot, pilots on pot, rig workers on pot,….but to some, those things are not problems at all.

Amazing. I would have expected Trudeau to have exactly the opposite point of view on this topic. Maybe he really does, but this strip is a shining example of the word he’s capable of—being laugh out loud funny without being snarky. Used to be like that during the Vietnam era. Funny regardless of which position you supported. Keep it up, Tru. This is the real essence of cartooning and you’re at your best when it shines through like this.
