Most hotels where I have stayed will make a phone call to wake you up in the morning.

The UPS and USPS men have seen me in all sorts of early morning ugliness. Morning breath, messy hair, no contacts so I am squinting, and whatever ratty t-shirt/pj pants combo (usually not matching) I happen to be wearing when I open the door. They’re working so they and room service care not what you look like. They’re there to earn a paycheck and that’s all. Save the primping for your hubby. ;)

That is probably the ‘special’ nightgown. Sometimes for a mom the specialness of the new nightgown is that it is non-stained with kid stuff and does not have any holes

This is why I never dated girls who wore makeup. Didn’t want any surprises in the morning. At age 87 my wife still looks good without makeup and 20 years younger than her age.

Oops, I meant age 57. Stupid laptop keyboard. My momma isn’t even 87 yet!

On a trip to Hawaii years ago that involved airplane problems, long delays and a trip that should have taken 8 hours stretching into 14 our luggage did not arrive with us.Exhausted we checked into our hotel and crashed. Sometime in the wee hours of the morning our bags arrived and the hotel staff brought them to us. I got up to allow the young man and woman to bring our bags in.When we got up my wife told me that, yes, I threw on a robe when I answered the door, but I failed to close it. I have always slept “in the raw”.At least that was back when I had my young, athletic body. It would be much worse now with my older, saggy, flabby body!

I don’t care how a room service employee sees me as long as the nightgown covered me well enough. But by insulting his wife Elly should, in sympathy with her, not leave the guy a tip. Or she could leave a sympathy card for his wife for being married to such a jerk!

…And so the room service guy has blown off his tip.

The waiter’s third panel answer shows that the guy is easy going… just the right reply to put hotel guest at ease.

One of my friends used to work at a hotel in the housekeeping department during her student days,… and the stories she told us,… (wow!) One thing her stories taught me, is to leave as little a mess as possible and to leave a tip. The other one is to travel with my very own towels and bedding. I would always pack in such a way as to have room for that, instead of taking more clothes.

That is not squinting; Elly is glowering.

Don’t you need to call and order room service? Never heard of them coming otherwise, and certainly not first thing in the morning.
