I read this and said out loud, “UNICORN!” But I’m not sure why. It just seemed like the thing to say at the time.

I would bet that Phoebe’s parents wouldn’t get this reference as this refers to a 1972 release. Jeez, that makes me feel old-I was in a Jr. in High School when this came out. Apparently Marigold must have a fairly long lifespan though perhaps not as long as Llewellyn.

Does this mean that Marigold raced at Saratoga and that she has an apricot scarf?

I hope Marigold enjoyed the total eclipse of the sun in Nova Scotia.

The shallow depth would explain the “No Diving” sign.

Marigold is Warren Beatty? Or was it Mick Jagger? Or James Taylor? Kris Kristofferson?

Funny trivia – the “son of a gun” at the start of the song was unscripted, Carly’s spontaneous reaction to the opening riff by Klaus Voorman. Richard Perry kept it on the album.

I want to know how Marigold flew a Lear Jet to Nova Scotia with no thumbs. Oh, wait, of course – “Unicorn!”

@ The Wolf In Your Midst: Well; seeing as how it’s called “Heavenly Nostrils”, I’d say that’s a pretty safe assumption.

This song is still on the play list of many golden oldie radio stations and it may be on the personal music play lists of one or both of Phoebe’s parents.

I thought it was pretty well settled it was Warren Beatty. I can’t see either Woody Allen or Truman Capote having all the girls dreaming they’d be his partner. But Warren was well-known for his harem-building. Also, “such a pretty pair”? And “with the wife of a close friend..” Definitely more Warren than Woody or Truman.

Marigold needs to listen to that song again. It’s not very complimentary, and I doubt she really wants to claim it. Not even the title. She can’t be VAIN. She’s a UNICORN!

Some very funny comments. The song spends the entire time talking about him, then says, “You probably think it’s about you.” Something wrong with this picture.
