Common cat behaviour. I think they’re tasting first to make sure you’re not spoiled or anything.

My kitten did that once. Little problem with impulse control.

At least, not where it can be seen by others!

Playing with the cat is like a box of chocolates, you never know what you’re going tl get….maybe something you won’t like…

We used to have a cat who was not satisfied with her morning snuggle until she had bitten you on the bit of flesh between your nostrils. No hard, but that’s a very sensitive area.

When our girl was a kitten she climbed up my shirt and bit my lower lip because she didn’t like my whistling. To be sure that was it I waited until she was back in my lap then whistled a tune again, she went right back up and bit me again. In her 20 year lifetime she never did abide a whistler.

We have a cat that will specifically bite my ears or lick my forehead while I am sleeping in order to receive petting and attention.

cats have their own reality.

Dogs have owners…cats have staff……..you call a dog and they come to you….cats take a message and get back to you….

Aw! It’s a love bite. We had a cat that would do that too, almost like claiming “you are mine”.Thanks for the smile and the memories, Jimmy!

Now, there is an intimate remark if I ever heard one.

Not on Ludwig he didn’t.

My cat gnaws on me all the time. Not hard, then he licks where he chewed for awhile. I think he’s just marking me. They have very rough tongues and I have to grab his head and make him quit!

I had one that would lick your ear and then bite.

I have a gray tom who is a twin of Ludwig, does the same thing. His sister likes to wash the bald part of my head, nose, ears, etc., nibbles an ear or my nose once in a while too. Both are 12 as of this spring.

He can just be happy she’s reading a real book.

Biting like that is a cats way of showing love

It also depends on WHERE the tooth marks are…

Wife trying to get sympathy telling friends at a party, “He bit me!” Backfired bigtime when I added, “She’s sitting on the teeth marks…”
