Well, it looks like all the ladies are present (and…ahem.. un- made -over )… yes, alll present… even though Tiffany is barely there….in fact, it almost looks like she’s trying to give them the slip ! – In fact, she could be contemplating desert, right now… she could likely be thinking "cheesecake"… though some of us reading may be thinking: “tart!”….

I look like Luann, and I’m the same age as her. But she is SO stupid.

I guess, too, just like the one strip about the foods they are most like, their “undies” seem to be doing the same: Delta…sensible!… Bern, a ‘smart- un…. Lu, a wish to protrude an air of "sophistication"… I guess Tiffany is being made the “butt” of the joke, again… any way you slice it, it’s T.M.I.!…. – And it took about 29 years, but they’re finally graduating!….

Tiff has never been as attractive to me as she is right now.

Is the ceremony being held outdoors or in the gym? And after this build-up last week, what on earth will it be that Bernice and Tiffany have up their sleeves? (Now that we know what they have underneath their robes!)

That Tfff has always been a real trooper. A real commando, you might say.

I know I’ve defended Ms. Phelps in past strips, but today, I’d have to say that she is being TOO uptight here. I know they’re supposed to line up for the ceremony, but come on! Graduates will take photos of themselves. It’s graduation day! It’s their day to make memories and see each other for one last time before they go their separate ways. Give it a rest for once, Phelps!

At my graduation ceremony 26 years ago (already!), we all wore light-blue caps and gowns since our school colors were light-blue and gold. I still have the tassel! Memorial Mustangs, class of ’88! Whoo-hoo!

I’m pretty sure the National Honor Society graduates in my graduating class wore NHS regalia on their gowns. This December, when I get my B.A. in English, I’ll be wearing regalia from Sigma Tau Delta (an English honor society) and the Golden Key Honor society AND a memory stole that all graduates at my university wear come graduation time. I should also be wearing cords to indicate that I’ll be graduating magna cum laude.

Correction: so going into my Favorites.

Heh heh! They may be repeating to themselves: “Grade is just a number!”… – There’s also the fact that some are called by last name order… but on some TV grad shows this becomes the “in joke” as the main characters seem to get called regardless of any “real” type of order. - But Greg has been more so one who goes for the “simple”, “basic”, and not so much the “tiny detail”. Just enough to send over the punch line. So he may have valued the “comic moment” here, over the details (which he has suggested that he has missed, at times)…. so their gowns, etc. may not be telling the whole story, here…I’m pretty sure that Delta and Rosa’s final grades are way higher than Lu’s… and in turn hers must seem like NHS material compared to Tiffs….

She has yet to turn the age. She’s one of those “funny numbers” that turn either way before, or right after (she was born in the fall), and the week of their little sleepover with cereal and Toy Story (about a couple of months back), she hadn’t turned an age, yet…

On Tiffany that sounds almost normal.and evocative.

I’m unable to post the strip itself (from 3/26) but here is the link to it, that shows that Bern and Lu won’t be 18 until September….

@live2read: I’m a Sigma Tau Delta too! Got my English degree back in ’03. Congrats on your impending graduation. :)

Rush to judgement?Tiffany isn’t saying explicitly that she is going commando. She queries “undies?” Maybe it’s just the use of that word, rather than “underpants” or “panties” that she is questioning.On the other hand, if indeed she is telling us that she is bare-bottomed, I’d be mischievously tempted to reply to Lauren M, “way too short” for what? (Just kidding.)

The most interesting part of this ceremony will be the end, when Mr. Fogarty breaks the Pitt HS track team’s school record for the 100-year dash as he runs to his car and zips out of the parking lot forever.

! I was wondering why they were thicker than usual…

Will future Luann comics be entitled, Luann, the college years?

I also wonder if (in her hands on panel 1), Delta couldn’t decide on being “Bad”, or being a “Grad”.. maybe she just decided to “split the dfference”!..

Since there’s already a “Luann Again”, it would stand to safely reason that any future spin offs could be “Luann, Not Againn”….

Okay, then how about a different one: “Luann Againn, But Still Not Againn”… Or “Luann Almost Againn, But Not Quite” or “Luann…. It’s A Different One, I Tell You!” or maybe “Luann: Kind Of Again, Yet It Isn’t”… – Or a rearrangement: “Againn… With Luann” – Or simply… “Luann… Is That You?”

Like clothing, there’s a reason “sting operations” and “strategic campaigns” are better as clandestine: initiatives: – The less everybody knows about it, the better!

I’m sure most of us have a picture similar to frame one. Mine has three of my friends, two boys and a girl, plus our favorite teacher acting just as silly as we were.

They don’t risk messing up their caps and gowns for a rehearsal, do they? This must be the actual awarding of diplomas.

I doubt that Bern would wear those “Grad” glasses and that Delta would write on her hands and Tiff would wear that slinky dress (even for her) just for the rehearsal. – I just had a couple of my nephews graduate and for one, their rehearsal was just having their class wear “all white” as they had both a rehearsal and a special program prepared for them….

LOL! You’re welcome! I told you that that sponsor would be scheduled for next week! I do believe that this is all for a two week grad arc… probably some comic moments from Knute and Crystal, Ox, Gunther, Quill, and maybe a bit of parents and Brad/Toni, and probably some Qull/Luann interplay…..

And though it isn’t usual for the Sunday to follow the dailies, it does happen… as I was stating above, the Fgarty arc was a recent example….

So, is the strip going to shift to college now?

Hasn’t the pacing of this story been a bit strange? After the horrible “Fogarty look-back” strips, we had some perfectly ordinary “Quill and Luann” strips and “Luann, Tiffany, and the kids strips”, then Bernice was named valedictorian and talked with Phipps last week, and now the big day has arrived. We didn’t see anyone study for, or take, final exams, no one fretted about sending out graduation invitations, no one worried about gifts or parties, or anything. Just boom, we’re graduating. Considering that the planning for the prom went on for weeks (and then the actual event itself took exactly 2 strips), the actual culmination of all these years of high school in the strip seems to be treated as almost a throw-away event.-(deleted and re-posted to fix a typo)

Tiff’s dress/skirt is just right She looks great in panties or sans panties as the strip has shown in her bikini shots. All the guys like that whether they admit it or not!

I hope it has something to do with giving that bully what he deserves. He was shown a lot this week while Bernice was bring told she was the VD. I don’t know how Tiffany would help with that though……I could be comepletely wrong. …wishful thinking

“I think she meant for both words to be used together as a phrase, that’s why we see both of them.” ^Ha ha! I was just joking on that one, and I knew she meant “Bad Grad” as in “making it out of HS and on a roll”, but the reason I said it as I did, was because of the fact that she wrote one on one hand and the other on the other one… and people say she doesn’t have any "celebratory depth, etc.! But also, mostly I said it because if you think about it, when would you ever use the word “bad” and Delta, in the same sentence? (XD) <[Ha ha…hoot and a half!!!!} – (Even though in this instance “Bad” means “Good”!)

Which shows that each school can do things pretty much however they want. As I suggested, it’s unlikely that Pitt H.S. is very much concerned about formalities and rituals. It’s probably just head ’em up and move ’em out, at this schoolkid cattle drive.

Tiff is not saying “undies” because she is not wearing them. High school girls wear panties not undies. Undies are for grade schoolers. She is just making fun of Berniece and the others.

After skimming through recent posts, I haven’t seen anyone who truly has a right to say, “CALLED IT!” with respect to the Tiff/Bernice mystery. Today’s comic is perfectly timed with tomorrow’s, they are in synch. Now tomorrow you can have fun with some coloring inconsistency ‘twixt today’s strip and tomorrow’s. Nothing major, but I expect to hear the razzing.

If they weren’t humans when they started the humanities, they won’t be when they leave.If they were humans when they started the real science courses, they still will be.

“Mouse” must have been pretty busy! OR was very much looking forward to this week! Hope everything is alright!

At my high school graduation, one of my classmates wore shorts under his robes, but no one complained.
