Chief Patton’s hair is on the fritz. But more importantly, so is the justice system!

Good morning, Vista Bill, and everyone else.Jeff Clark and Ed Rosato got some ‘splainin’ to do.

Sounds like County Commissioner Rosato is as crooked as a dog’s hind leg.

Does Chief Patton’s hair in panel two remind you of Lloyd Bridges in “Airplane”? Looks like he picked the wrong week to stop sniffing glue.

This story just keeps getting bigger every day! I wonder when Big Daddy will make his appearance?

Just a little dab will do ya Chief, don’t use that greasy kid stuff.

Maybe it will turn out that Nightmare the murdering horse is the brains and the boss and Tabby Angus is just his front and patsy.

This is getting serious! I wonder if the state’s attorney knowingly participated in this scheme. Clearly, the chief isn’t about to reprimand Tracy for this find. What will happen next? Hmm.

Patton! Patton! Lend me your comb! (Remembering the late Efrem Zimbalist, Jr.)……………………………………..The Crook County web tightens. Clark was merely the investigator; board member Ed Rosato is the (obviously crooked) dealmaker; and the State’s Attorney is at best weak, if not involved in the criminal conspiracy to obstruct justice and let serial killer-moneyman Tabby Angus off scot-free (ahem).

Very nice effect in panel one by team Tracy showing us CP’s reflection in the mirror although they should have written his question in reverse reflection also. Now that would have been cool! It’s not that easy drawing reverse so we can give them a pass on the error of the comb magically switching hands! LOL!

Still waiting to see how Angus’ rather bored “dearie” will play into all of this. Anyone else remember her for his first appearance?

I’d like to see them bring back Homer “Peanutbutter”. He was the wise aleck kid who looked like Harry Potter and loved eating peanutbutter and drove the Dick Tracy crew crazy. He’d make a nice boyfriend for Honeymoon.

The plot sickens…

In Russia we have saying, “The fish rots from the head first!”

I don’t understand how the state’s attorney (whose job is to prosecute) would figure into the chain of command of the police.And why isn’t animal control involved when you have so many violent animal attacks? Nightmare can’t have been the only horse responsible – can it?

what about statute of limitations? depending on how many years have gone by, the ONLY thing tracy could nail angus with would probably be kollossal’s death..

Good play on words. The chief will assign Tracy to investigate discreetly.

There’s no statue of limitation on murder.

Puzz, the fishing boat pulling the lure sucked you in. The comb is in Patton’s left hand all the time. But to give credit where credit is due, you are right. I switch hands all of the time whilst preening my locks. It’s easier than stretching my arm to the other side. The traffic noise must have been loud this morning.

The comb never changes hands, as the first panel is a mirror image (as has been graciously acknowledged). In the second panel we are behind Tracy, no longer seeing the reverse image in the mirror. Good eye, thunderbearr. So, is Pat contemplating a make-over? Maybe he is nostalgic for his hair style of a different era...Captain Kiddeo is also spot-on. I cast a vigorous “no” vote on the return of what, for me, was one of the most annoying characters of all time. Peanut Butter was nearly enough to put me off of the stuff, way back when it was a lunchtime favorite..Seven deaths is a Nightmare! Please, Judge, don’t send him to the glue factory. He’s only a pawn (or is it a knight-mare) in Tabby’s game.

Puzz, continued….But I can see the difficulty some folks have with switching hands to comb because they are already engaged in multitasking (see Bassmanbob’s ’Beneath The Planet of the Magpies, vol II, chapter III).

I see Chief Patton moved his name badge from the Left to the Right between the first and second panels ;)
